First one....why is it when we are the same weight as another we can't be in the same size of clothing? It is rather fustrating to see that and realize you can't wear that size. I think I am just way to curvy for my own good.

Second one....why do we have stores that make clothes for the fluffier than average women not cut the sizes true to size??? I hate LB for that reason. Still fumming over the fact I am in a 26/28 shirt in that silly store when I know I am a size 16/18 in the big designers. Look at that difference. HUMPHING

Third one....fiber is evil. I don't care if it is good for you. My tummy is rebelling and let me tell you it's winning the battle. Nothing I want to eat is sitting well but bread is. YEAH AND JOY. Sheesh coke is the only thing keeping it from going into a full assault.

I'm officially still in hiding from this board so don't tell anyone you seen me here LOL . I like this topic because I am so baffled..I lost 10 pounds and went down a whole size..I could fit into my 20's . I have a pair of Capri's that are 18's..they are tight bit they zip up and I can actually wear them!! I am 270 (last I checked a week and a half ago) the 22's are big and comfy....yet some of the people are 220 and under and in 20's...I think it has a lot to do with I am very muscular..like my thighs and ass arr solid muscle..(well under than layer of cellulite LMAO) But seriously..when I was "thinner" I was 170-180 and in a size 8-10...It is different for everyone I think . I'm thinking if I can get down to 200 I might be about a 12-14?!?! that would be awesome..guess I have to actually TRY though to lose it HAHAHA.. Congratulations to all of you who are losing!!!

edited for spell check LOL

HMM, OK well I am 5'7 and about 264 since I gained a pound because I am full of it today.

I can wear anywhere between a size 14 to 22 in my tops depending on make and brand. Yes, these puppies are 42 d's as well. I can wear pants or skirts depending from a size 20 to 24.

Now tell me if that is not weird? I have an hour glass shape and unless you look at me from the side you really don't have an idea about what I weigh. And that is a huge idea. No one has been able to guess how much I weigh in a very long time.

I think that is so weird. And April, I have a feeling that me and you are about the same size. I have a ton of muscle...I mean, I have buns of steel and I weigh 258 lbs!! I take after my dad and that is how he is also, so I am just muscular. So, that is probably one reason, muscle weighs more than fat. But if I am almost an 18, I think if I were about 200 lbs, I'd be a 12-14, and that would be great! I could stop there, sometimes I think that my goal is too small for my body, 155? I'd be like a size 6!

Im the same way Karrie...last time I went to Lane Bryant I went for an old lady shirt and slacks..the salesgirl says "Oh no honey..you need a more form fitting shirt you have that hourglass thing going on and YOU HAVE A WAIST!" lmao...I loved that woman!!!! I dont deny I am a big girl but I think people are shocked by my weight...atleast they act like they are..a girl I chat with on my mommy board thought I weighed around 175 LMFAO.(she seen pics online of me) .I was like god woman...but then again she was a small size 4 and 115 HAHAHA...Some people just dont judge well with weight and ALOT of people dont want to offend..so I just take it with a grain of salt when they say I dont look that big.."HEY IM FAT..GET OVER IT..WHO CARES" lol .

There was a thing on tv the other day, as there often is as a news filler perhaps, about this issue. Manufactures *vanity size* because they are smart enough to know women spend more money on their clothes if the size indicates smaller than the person really is. It's been happening for years now. The report went on to say that many women even cut the size labels out of their clothes, and then there was the inevitable discussion of how some women attach self esteem to the smaller size. It's only a number, and it really doesn't mean anything after all.

That is true though..it is just a size. I find myself ashamed of my tags, and I do cut them out b/c "they itch", but it is really so my b/f or my friends don't see the sz. 20 or 22 on the tag...i just always wish for the day when I am a sz 8 and can be like "Yeah, what size are these pants? Look at my tag.." Like my skinny friends do that "forget" what size they wear...whatever

I'm going to have to agree with you forte. It's an arbritrary number that the designers use. Not a big deal that I can wear a size 16 in LB stretch denim but can't wear an 18 in LB regular denim.

I don't really care about the number on the label as long as I like the clothes...but I do agree that it makes it harder to shop at different stores when the sizes can be so different. I usually grab 3 of the same thing...one up a size, one down a size and one in the size I *think* I am.

Honey, I feel your pain. Clothes are cut so different from designer to designer, and label to label it's ridiculous ! How can I be a 14 in LB jeans, but a 20 at Old Navy ? And if your'e busty, you end up buying tops that are out of proportion to the rest of you just to make the boobage fit.

The WAY clothes are cut now, if you don't have the body of a 10 year old boy, you are SOL.

if I wear things that are too big/loose, I look heavier. I finally got clothes that fit, and I look like a completely different person ! of course, stuff that is too tight makes you look bigger also - it's a fine line we have to tread to make the most of our figures, and to be honest, I really love having boobage, a butt, and hips. My belly is completely flat now, so I can wear shirts cut a little shorter and closer than I used to, and my 14 stretch jeans have some wiggle room in the waist. Last week they didn't.

I'm sure THAT had NOTHING to do with the CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Clothes are a pain in the butt, and I really have to be in the mood to try stuff on, can't be getting my period, can't have to pee, and have to send Kyle away to a store he like because as much as I adore him, he is HORRID to shop with. (and the last time I booted him off somewhere, he came back with diamond earring studs for me!)

Karrie, buy what fits, and stay away from LB if it is cut stoopid - An Shawna has a point, no one really sees the size, but it's still irritaing.

Bestest luck,

Amy
