Weighed myself today...165.
December of 2000 I was 265 !
Oh my GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I 'knew' something was going to be good about my weight today, because yesterday I weighed a flat 166, and went clothes shopping. I haven't worn tank tops in over 15 years, but yesterday bought two STRING HALTER TOPS - HALTER TOPS!!! - and a pair of shorts. We went to Border's Book's where, Hey Shawna !!!! - I bought The Fat Girl's Guide to Life, a couple of CD's ( new OutKast and a chick named Jem who sounds like a cross between Dido and Sarah McLachlan)and the new Maxim mag with the top 100 hotties (I love Maxim - it's like Cosmo for men, but I like it anyway.)
I had this feeling I should be rewarding myself for something, although at the time I did not know what. We went to din din at Uno's and I had a steak and shrimp, some salad, buffalo wings....I had yogurt for breakfast and a very light lunch while shopping because I knew we were going to eat out.
And the scale said 165 today.
First of all, I want to THANK ALL OF YOU that have been supportive, welcoming, and friendly - you make my day so much brighter and funnier, CERTAINLY more entertaining and I feel that as we all have something in common (BZZT!Sorry Karrie!)and we can relate to each other. I don't think this would have been as easy for me over the past few weeks if I didn't have someplace to go and vent about the size of my butt, my over-achiever dietician who I keep at arm's length, and food food food glorious food.
THANK YOU ! You guys are the best.
Amy, who is positively barking her head off right now.

Amy, who will be polishing her Golden Spork daily...
Amy
I hope youread Fat!So?, because I think it goes right along with FGGTL in it's message. The main points it makes is that skinny does not automatically equal healthy, and you should never apologize for your size. I learned that if someone says YOU have a weight problem, it's really THEM that has a problem with YOUR weight. If you can't get ahold of this book or it won't be in for a month, I would be hapy to mail you my copy. I think you can also get it from the Fatso website - www.fatso.com .
XOXOXO
Amy, barking her ASS off.
I'm really happy for you, and this kind of news is exactly why I wanted to start posting here. People really do make it to the other side!
congrats. i guess one can have one's cake and eat it too. ;)
What an achievement and accomplishment.
Enjoy your victory and remember in happiness the journey you have completed.
