Anyone doing Atkins? If so, how's it going? I was thinking about trying it for a while -just wondering if anyone had tried it and had success?

Very good post. I agree totally. Except I do the high fat version of Atkins. My overall cholesterol went down from 224 to 196 in this past year. Go figure, we are all different. I have lost 57 pounds since last June. Rather slow I think but I'm not complaining, cause I feel great. :-) Stephanie 280/223/170 Atkid since 6/15/2003

I agree that the whole cholesterol thing is different for everyone - some may go down, others up. I'm glad yours went down ! And don't feel bad that 10 pounds is not coming off every week. Although it's nice to see on the scale, you have a better chance of keeping it off if it comes off gradually. It took me 3 years to lose 101 pounds, and I didn't even excercise.

Bad idea, really bad idea. You should read about the contraversy surrounding that diet plan. And most in the medical community consider it unsafe. People lose weight on the cabbage soup diet too, but that doesn't mean a person should go do it. Ask your doctor first, and read all you can, and then (hopefully) choose a safer and saner approach. Some of the reports, from Atkins autopsy results, show that the diet was what really killed him, and he died a very fat and unhealthy corpse. Not very good advertisement for the Atkins diet, but something to think about and read about and consider, for sure.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...sort of. I do get out and walk, and I do 200 squats and 200 leglifts each leg ,front-back-side. Also calf raises and push ups - stuff i can do at work every day. But walking and sex count, right ?
