In the meantime I started to get healthy - then of all things got the flu. It was very serious and lasted, I'm not kidding, weeks!!! I just got back on my feet this week.
The strange part is, i didn't lose my appetite, so I put on a few pounds. I wasn't able to do much, and I ate like I was running a marathon. Being 150 pounds overweight - running a marathon isn't likely for quite some time!
Well - this past week I got on Atkins. I wasn't sure what I was ultimately going to choose to lose weight, but elected on something I know works. Atkins is a good one for me since at first I miss quantity. With Atkins you can eat all you want, if it fits the category. But over time I find as I do it - I eat less and less so quantity becomes less important.
The good thing about it also is that now, rather than a few years ago, so may restaurants support it. And I can get some "treats" like chocolate bars if I need a "fix" once in a while without breaking my diet.
Everyone has to pick what works for them. This works for me. Now I just have to get with the water routine. I use grenadine in my water at work - very small amount - to take the edge off. I hate the taste of water, and bottled water is not an option. So I recommend it to anyone who also hates water!!! (There are other flavors you can buy too - and it is NOT alcoholic as some people think. It is just a flavored syrup.)
Anyway - I want to again thank everyone, I'm trying to read the postings and keep up. What an active board...not sure if that is a good thing! Wink wink...
By the way - Atkins makes me feel so much happier too! It is my hubby's birthday tomorrow and I'm looking forward to a minor celebration after being so sick for so long.
