With teaching full-time, don't have a lot of extra time to spare, but need some dough to go on vacation. Just wondered if anyone had any great ideas? Thought about mystery shopping and maybe making my own candles with mason jars. I know they have boards on here with ideas, but thought I would get input here first. I don't want to tutor. Thanks!

If you decide on mystery shopping let me know how that goes. That would be something I would probably enjoy.

A weekend job, perhaps. Anything you choose: working in a store, waiting tables, whatever. And putting every penny earned at the second into a "vacation account." That works. What do you want to do to earn money for vacation? Figure that out, and then do it. Personally, I long term plan for the things I want. But some people don't want to do that. So whatever you WANT to do, is what you SHOULD do.

I sure wouldn't recommend an actual part time job if you are a teacher -with all the extra time necessary after school, I can't see how you'd have time for anything that regular. The mystery shopper idea sounds like a fun, "occasiona" sort of job. Good luck!

Many teachers have second jobs. It's whatever she wants to do.

My husband has been out of work for 2 years, so here are some things we did. I have baked quick breads (pumpkin, bannana, zuccinni etc.) and sold them at church for $5. We have taken in short term boarders. Yard sales are great! We visit apts at the end of each month and have made a lot of money on what people have trashed at the dumpsters. College towns are great this time of year (I've heard) because young adults don't feel like lugging things home. Crafts are good if you can make things like pins and magnets. When I was teaching in public schools a friend of mine made apple magnets out of juice can lids painted red, a silk leaf glued to the top, a magnet attatched to the back, and she wrote A+ teacher with a sharpy on the front. They were great and I still have mine. Hope this helps Good luck,Ruthie
