I used to go there, andI had really good results. I lost like 16" in all and like 30 lbs after a few months. My friend Lisa goes right now nad she said she's lost 16 lbs(she doesn't eat right), and she started going last quarter.
My step mother in law goes. she lost about 20 pounds. my friend goes and although not over weight to start with, she has lost 2 inches of her waist. I think she lost 3 pounds in a month. both complained they did not have enough time to do extra reps on the machines, and felt rushed to move on to other eiquipment. Mother in law says its perfect for the over 50 crowd, but wouldnt be good for serious exercisers.
Coming out of lurkdom to answer your question. I've been going to Curves for almost 2 years and I still really enjoy it. I don't exactly know what kind of results I've had because I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life the past 2 years and haven't always been able to go regularly. I have lost almost 40 lbs, but I don't contribute that just to Curves. I don't know about inches because I only recently started recording that. I have had a noticeable an increase in my strength, flexibility, and endurance. I have heard comments from people in the past about it not being a good workout, but I really disagree with that. You have to make it the kind of workout you want it to be. You don't have to go just 3 times a week, go everyday if you want. If you go faster on the machines and push harder and you'll get better results. You can go around the circuit more times if 30 minutes isn't long enough for you. Go back to machines you want to focus on after you've completed the circuit. There's lots of things you can do to make it a good workout.
I agree with the last poster. I am not an avid exerciser, but I just love Curves. I just do my three times a week, but plan to do more once school lets out. You work out as hard as you need to and you can make it a good workout. The machines are hydraulic, no weights. That's what I love about it too. I love that it is a circuit, I get so bored easily and this helps. I don't know about inches yet, but will find out tomorrow. This is my first month and they weigh you weekly, if you want and measure you monthly. I have lost 13 pounds this month, my first month and I know Curves has given me the extra boost along with diet. Curves also has a diet plan too and I hear it is good, but you don't have to do it. We have women of all ages at ours and all fitness levels. I have never felt out of place or uncomfortable. You definitely have to exercise, but make it enjoyable. This is enjoyable to me! Heather
