The last episode of Friends was so good.

Baby questions were dealt with a while back. The writter's were taking a Everyone Loves Raymond view and keeping Emma out of the main plots. It worked. Most of the time when the babies are brought in the show jumps the shark i.e. Mad About You.

I doubt rachel would ever regret it not when it comes to Ross.

Okay, I can see not involving the baby in most plots, but doesn't she HAVE to be considered in a storline that has one parent moving to another continent? Not to do so is callous and sends a really bad message - can you imagine if all single parents just picked up on a whim and moved thousands of miles away? What a disater for the kids! I realize that a sitcom is not supposed to be particularly realistic, but after LOVING the show for 10 years, I was very disappointed they'd drop the ball so badly on that one. Jeez, at the very least, Emma could have been with Ross instead of her Grandma...after all, they showed Ross with BEN (AND fretting about having limited access to him!) more than they've shown him with Emma.

Perhaps...I never really gave it a thought. I think Ben was more involved in the plot because of the issue of his ex being gay and having a committed relationship.

Who knows? I was fine with it. I mean good grief look at Phoebe she had triplets and I believe they have only been brought up twice before.

Yes, but those weren't her children, so she has no issues about leaving them behind. I was a surrogate mother 7 years ago, and that child (Haley) does not figure prominently in where I live etc. - but I have two daughters of my own with my husband, so I'd certainly have to consider THEM if I were to want to move away from somewhere. It's apples and oranges - why should Phoebe's children be mentioned? Anyway, thanks for debating this trivial issue with me...I've been dying to discuss it with someone who doesn't just go "It's a TV show" and roll their eyes, LOL. And on that note - do you watch ER? These are the only two shows that I ever watch, and ER was quite the episode last night, too!!

I think there is a difference in Pheebe's. Those little ones were her family and if you remember it was hard for her to let go and it was very emotional for her.

It is just TV and because of that they aren't going to focus a comedy on the bigger picture but on the plots that were there before and needed to be tied up.

Now if it was something about ER, by the way that was just WRONG of them to do that to Carter, I would say hello what do they think they are doing.

I don't expect it from Friends.

you know it's going to be the death of the relationship. i can tell you right now she is not going to get over it at all.

I thought so too, but there were a couple of hints that it might survive - when John mentions that very thing, and his dad tells him they'll get through it and she'll want more children. And then at the end, when he speaks so gently to her and convinces her to look at and hold the baby. On the other hand, with her work in Africa and his life in Chicago, I always thought it was doomed right from the beginnning. I guess I could cheat and look to see if Thandie Newton has signed on for more episodes, but that would spoil it ;-)

Ok, I just watched the finale (I taped it since I was on vacation) and I'm watching it, then all of a sudden the last few minutes got cut off! I set the VCR for a few minutes after 10:00, but for some reason they must have added like 5 minutes to the end. Why don't they let people know that they're going to do this? GRRRR! Well, at least I got to see Rachel come back to Ross and tell him that she loves him. I hope I didn't miss anything important in the last couple of minutes. I guess I'll just have to wait for the repeat.

As far as MASH goes, I loved that show. And I've got you all beat...I graduated high school the same year that the finale was on! I still watch it when it's on TV.
