Oh, it's called "Supersize Me" and here's a quick review of the movie which I just found, in case others are interested. I've just seen previews on television, and at the theatre, but this is definitely worth seeing I think:

and the movie trailer at:

Editing to add that the film won Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and MTV News Docs Prize this year also.

I love it when that happens to me and my appetite vanishes. I imagine that's what it must be like to be efortlessly thin.

What part of the Original Post did you not find clear?

I think the point Shawna made was that hippolytes' post had NOTHING to do with the OP, the topic, or anything else remotely related. And neither does your post, except that it validates hippolytes- oh, how shocking. Why are you asking what her point was- do you not understand how it works that she would make a post, and those responding would post something relative to the topic? I understand that posts turn and go in different directions, but to come out of left field and then ask Shawna what her point was seems to be just an attempt to make her feel bad and to try to belittle her yet again.

"not the burger and fries garbage which can kill you"

You can't possibly be suggesting that burgers and fries are as deadly as say, arsenic, can you? 'Cause I'd have to disagree with you. Now, if you what you were really trying to say is that if one's diet consists mainly of burgers, fries, and other high-fat, high calorie foods, then that person is at a much higher risk of being overweight and developing heart disease and diabetes, and thus is at a greater risk of dying prematurely, then I'd agree. But you know, an occasional burger and order of fries isn't going to cause ANYONE to keel over. (Unless it's laced with arsenic.)

As for the movie you're discussing (Super Size Me), you forget one important aspect of this man's documentary: he ate at McDonald's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He forced himself to eat everything on the menu, and if they asked him if he wanted to supersize his meals, he would. He wasn't trying to control his caloric intake, he wasn't trying to watch his fat intake, and he certainly wasn't following the golden rule of healthy eating: everything in moderation. Considering this man was eating over 5,000 calories a day, are you really surprised he gained weight?

It would be far, far more interesting to see someone go to McDonald's and other fast food restaurants and make a conscious effort to eat healthy. In fact, someone is already trying to do just that. Her name is Soso Whaley, and she's been eating at McDonald's everyday to show what can happen when someone exercises self-control and moderation. She hasn't suffered the horrible side effects that Morgan Spurlock encountered while making his documentary. You can read about Whaley's experiment vis-a-vis Spurlock's here: http://www.nationalreview.com/stuttaford/stuttaford.asp

"the extra value meals, not even supersize"

Not true. He would ORDER the regular extra value meals, but HAD to (per his own rules) order supersize if he was asked. Now, it's been my experience that they ALWAYS ask you if you want to supersize.

"morbidly obese and grossly fat at 185 lbs."

LOL. That's no doubt an exaggeration. Not knowing how tall he was, it's hard to say whether he was merely at the high end of normal at 185, or actually overweight. But generally, a man isn't considered morbidly obese until he's about 100 pounds overweight. Now, Spurlock did get up to 230, but for an average man, that's probably still just obese...not "grossly fat" (whatever that means to someone like you).

And BTW, it's CANNES, not Caine.

I'm looking forward to seeing the same movie. I saw the previews in the theatre over the weekend, but I'm not sure when it's coming here. There was something on ET a couple nights ago, but I missed it and only heard about it second-hand.

"morbidly obese" and "grossly fat" at just 25 pounds overweight?? Where the hell do you get your morbidly wrong and grossly inaccurate information? Check with ANY doctor, or even any online body mass indicator, and you will see that such a gain is merely "overweight". Don't be such an alarmist - your exaggerations make your comments ridiculous.
