If something's not broke - don't fix it. You've been so successful on WW. It might be a good idea to lose your last 20lb there. You'd still be doing it on your own, no one else is doing for you. It sounds like you're looking for a way to jumpstart the weight loss again, which is good. If you leave now, I think you might feel a little defeated underneath, not the joy of reaching your goal. As you know sometimes we sabotage ourselves, I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but it might be a thought. Getting annoyed with all the money you have to spend might be an incentive toward getting to your goal faster. Finally getting that 20lb monkey off your back AND saving money! Sounds like a good deal to me.
I don't want to sound like I think it's easy (I KNOW IT'S NOT) but I just wanted to add some thoughts that I had. Anyway, I'm sure you'll do the right thing for yourself.
Without reading the posts from everyone else first...this is what I would do...
At first, why don't you do one week by yourself and then one week WW. You could then move to 2 weeks on your own and 1 week WW. Slowly wean yourself off until you're completely alone. You're always going to implement what you've learned from WW, it's now kind of a habit to think like they've taught you.
I'm still new to WW but I can really see that anyone would not want to count points for the rest of their lives. I don't blame you for wanting to branch out and try it on your own. You can always go back if you think it's not working for you by doing it alone. You may have to double your exercise routine until you get stable. Who knows.
I wish you all the best in whatever you decide. Follow your heart.
My concern would be that once you get away from the accountability you would let your guard down and start to gain again. You have done so well on weight watchers and you know that it is a program that works for you. Even if you did stop going to meetings I would not stop their way of eating. Just my thoughts. sharla
I dont know and cant say what you should do..but I will say I think you should keep yourself surrounded by this support system you have . Like this and the WW board ..If you quit paying for WW there stons of free stuff and if you remain a member on IV's WW board you can continue to get the updates etc Im sure noone would mind posting that for you . And I liek the flag idea also . I also like the weaning yourself off..too bad WW doesnt have like a trial 2 week version for half the price so you could use that huh? Anywho I know you'll do what you have to do to keep this weight off , you've worked SOOO hard and deserve
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but about the money - if you do decided to stay with WW for a lifetime, you don't have to keep paying, right? From what I remember it is free as long as you maitain your goal weight...but I'm not sure how that works in the on-line version!! Anyway, I tend to agree that if you now have all the information, you should be able to do it on your own and save the money.
