can't get motivated...

I have been watching what I eat since last October. I use to weight 334 pounds and now I am at 300 pounds. I am having a hard time getting below 300 and for some reason I am losing my motivation. I have been walking 1 mile a day, 5 days a week and this week, I just can't get up and do it. This is the second day I just don't want to walk and I am hating myself for it and running to food. HELP!! I need some sort of jump start to get me even to 299 pound and than I think I would be happy. I am seeing the results in my clothes but for some reason, my brain wants to see it on the scale too.

You are probably gaining muscle and losing fat, so you will maintain for a bit.

I hate the darn plateaus. You really are doing great! Remember muscle weigh more than fat. Your clothes are fitting better because you are toning. Keep up the good work!

I know what you mean , I have been having trouble getting motivated too, I weigh 280 and that's the heaviest I've ever been , and I am miserable and can hardly fit into any of my clothes. I wish us both luck , and Have a great day.

I am right there with you. In fact, I am on the computer in order to avoid exercise at this moment. So here is the deal. I am going to go downstairs and do a video and you have to walk today. Truthfully the only way I know to get through it is to make myself, but somedays it is so hard. Do we have a deal and let me know how it goes. sharla

welcome to the board queenbee and congrats on the -34 lbs!

Have you tried any exercise tapes? Sometimes it helps to mix things up i know i would be bored walking(or any exercise) 5 days a week for months. At many libraries you can rent them. Or maybe walk a different area, any scenic areas?

I am the same way i've been doing weekly weigh-ins and measurements and for some reason i just want to see the scale move more than anything else..lol..just mental i know =)

Good Luck!

Queenbee,

Today on Kathleen Daeleman's food channel tv program, Cooking Thin. It was about a woman who has over 100 lbs to lose and she had the same problem, getting motivated. Kathleen had some good hints, great sounding recipes, and some specialists on tackling the problem. You may want to check your local listings....the program probably repeats this weekend, and see if that helps you. Or check out the website for the recipes. I understand next time she's revisiting the same woman and addressing more problems (and solutions) associated with her progress losing 100 lbs or more. I hope this helps!!
