I stopped by my friend Lee's and he was washing and waxing his bikes. He has a Full Dresser (late model--not sure of the year) and an '88 custom Superglide. The Superglide is called "Mr. Breeze". Its painted on the tank. What a beautiful bike! I've always lusted after it.
Anyway, Lee gets done waxing it and says to me, "Hey Deb, why don't you take Mr. Breeze for a ride?" Well, you could of knocked me down with a feather. I was like, "you serious?!" and he said, "sure, go ahead..."
So I took Mr. Breeze for a ride around the block. As I was pulling into the driveway, Lee said "No, Deb. Take him for a RIDE!" Go out for an hour or so."
So I took Mr. Breeze out for a good ride, tore down the highway and really gave him a good run. I was nervous at first. I mean, heck, the biggest bike I ever rode was my husband's Sportster. The Superglide was surprisingly easy for me to handle. It had a lower center of gravity than the Sportster, but it was wider (and heavier--of course!)
I rode it with respect and care. It definitly helped with the sad feeling of leaving Myrtle Beach too soon...
I thanked Lee profusely. That was the coolest thing anyone has ever done for me.
Deb
