A little worried...
| Tue, 05-18-2004 - 10:53am |
I had a pelvic ultrasound the other day, because I was worried about a really heavy period I had a couple months ago. I had gone to the ER at the time, since I had been bleeding quite heavy for more than 24 hours, and I got no answers there. Instead, they treated me for a UTI, for which I had no symptoms. I was not even convinced that I had a UTI. Anyway, I got a call about the results, but of course, they can't tell you anything over the phone, so I was told to come in today to find out what the results are. I'm actually pretty worried, because I've never had any problems with my reproductive system at all, but then again, I haven't had any children, so for all I know, there could be something really wrong with me. This is scary for me, because I definately want to have children, and my boyfriend and I have been thinking about a future together. I have a feeling we are going to get engaged sometime this year, and things are going so wonderfully. If there were something wrong with my reproductive system, that would be something I don't know if I could deal with. I dunno, maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions, but I don't know what to think when they want me to come in for the results. One thing that did cross my mind was pregnancy, but wouldn't they have been able to tell when they were doing the ultrasound if I were pregnant? Would she have told me at the time, or is that something the Dr. would have to tell me?? I'll be going later this afternoon, and I'm really nervous! I'll definately post when I get back and let you know what's going on! ~Sabrina

Well Sabrina, it sounds like a stressful situation to be in.

That does sound scarey, but try not to get upset, sometimes things like this just happen for no reason. I will look for your update and keep my fingers crossed that it is nothing serious.

Sending positive thoughts your way :-) I know that you're worried, but just try to keep positive thoughts in your head. It's hard not to jump to conclusions, I'm that way, too. Whenever something isn't right with me, I always think the worst. But if there is anything wrong, I'm sure that it can be treated and you'll be good as new in no time. Good luck and keep us updated!

I also had an abdominal ultrasound, and they found that my left kidney is larger than the other one. They also said it is partially duplicated, whatever that means! I guess I'm a freak LOL!!! I have no idea what the implications of that is, but I will be seeing the nephrologist again in about 5 weeks. In the meantime, I'm going to look it up on the internet.
Anyway, I'm glad that I don't really have to worry anymore, that I'm starting to get some answers! ~Sabrina
Hey girl!
Amy *growls at cyst*
I'm glad you know what the source of the worry is about.

As for your kidney, I hope it turns out to be perfectly healthy.
