I hear you on the name thing, what's with "apple" sounds like there are already nuts in their family tree! This name won't help you, but I knew a young native American girl with the last name Killsprettyenemy. Her family was from a warrior tribe. Weird!

walk away from the fruit..I actually think they may have named her Apple because it comes from fairy's etc . There is a fairy called Apple Blossom and then there is a fairy called Gwyneth also..hmmm she does look kinda like the fairy-elves in Lord of the Rings .

In my job, we come across some wacko names...In our local phone book, there is a last name of... Snarkvogel. I did not make this up.

And I think the funniest, simply because of the officer's reaction, is Puffinburger.

An officer (Not ours, but shall remain nameless) is on a stop and calls in the name, which is spelled over the air in an alpha-code like "P Paul, U Union, double F Frank"...etc...

You get the idea.

Well, at about the B Boston, you hear a snigger over the air. By the time he gets to

G George, he has lost his composure and just BWAA HAA HAA's over the air. He was DYING.

He finally gets it together, but it was so funny, we saved the call on our system, and periodically send a fax to their PD that just says "PUFFINBURGER".

This is reportedly a 'serious' job that I have. Funny, I haven't really noticed...

As potentially disastrous as this is for any future offspring, I think most of the more unusual names I have heard are ones I have for my hypothetical future children. And I LOVE unique names. :-)

Trinity Kathryn

Heaven Michelle

Isabella Robyn

Magdalena Teresa

Angelina Joy

Sarabette Alese

Marly Dalyn

Brighid Sparrow

Ember JoLyn

I have courtesy nieces named Serenity and Deviney, and Denae, which I also think are unique.

I have seen some weird names in my day. The one that has stuck with me the most was a student whose first name was Guerene. She said she pronounced it with a "soft" g, as in jerry. Sort of like, "Ju-reen." Her last name was Bean. I bet her daddy meant it to be pronounced with a hard g, as in "Gu-reen Bean." Heh heh.

I used to be a nurse's aide (back when I thought I liked sick people) and one day I was in the nurses station with one of our neurosurgeons who was writing some orders.

Had my husband not named our dog Feyd, our youngest might have ended up with that name.My husband is a HUGE fan of the "Dune" series, and I guess that is one of the characters names.

My cousin named her daughter Autumn Harvest, which I personally think is kinda cool...my mother thinks it's just plain weird.

There were lots of names from High school that had me shaking my head. One girl was Ta-Ta-Tanisha,which I had thought would be pretty if ya left off one of the Ta's.
