As you know I am new and haven't been posting much, but have instead spent some time reading others posts and responses.

I was really surprised (mostly pleasantly, LOL) by the level of support you show one another in our collective goal of weight loss. Some posts, which were less than supportive and actually "putting down" one diet or another I was surprised in a not-so-good way to see. I guess I come here with the mindset that we will all find something that works for us as individuals and what is good for the goose isn't necessarily good for the gander, kwim? I see no benefit to criticizing one's attempts to get a grip on this battle whether we necessarily agree with the method or not (unless it is pure starvation, LOL).

And next I would like to commend everyone on their honesty and ability to share their struggles and successes! :-)

One post I can definitely relate to is the one about body image. I have learned to accept my body no matter what it's size is despite my continued (and successful) efforts to lose. I have no longer held myself back from buying new clothes that fit my current size (I used to buy everything smaller to force myself to lose- what a depressing game that was to play for years) and I feel good about how I look. I never wanted to go shopping because I hated people looking at me (mall/ dept. stores, etc.) but the internet and especially ebay has really opened up a new dimension to the whole *beautifying me* experince- I can leave my house to do something pleasant- something I will enjoy- and I know that I look my best (thanks stripe_butterfly!!!!!!!! my ebay fashion maven, LOL)!

I will step off my soap box now, LOL! I am happy to be here and will try to participate more (modem user here- ugh) Support one another, it does wonders!

Hugs!

Thanks, Honey !

It can be tough to sort through stuff sometimes, and I am one of the guilty ones who can't drop things until I've had my say. But I try no to START things, either.

Glad you're here !

Hi honey, yes it would seem that people would be mature enough to not put down anothers way of life/diet/plan but some people are just socially inept or just plain rude but most people come to here to receive/give support.

anyhow welcome, i noticed on both of your posts you've mentioned eBay and named a seller, you may want to not mention a seller's name it may be constued as advertising/spam. And that's against TOS, so just wanted to warn ya in case ya didn't know =) Just saying eBay i don't think is against TOS but saying a name might imply advertising for the seller.

Oh thanks! It didn't occur to me that mentioning "that seller" (LOL) could be against the rules, but I guess I can see where it might be- thanks for pointing that out! I tend to really praise products I love whether it be clothing/ food/ or other household items so that others don't miss out. Thanks!

And thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! :-)

Don't get me wrong- I feel we are all entitled to our opinions...this is just such an emotional topic and one thing said could send someone on a terrible spiral when what they really need is support, kwim?

I think it is very brave of you to admit that you feel strongly about something! Thanks for posting to me!
