What keeps you going?

I know that all of us have a moment of weakness every so often and I thought it might be a good idea to share what goes through our heads when we think about eating that cookie, or that macaroni and cheese or that cheeseburger. What do you do or think about to talk yourself out of it? Maybe we can use each others ideas to our own benefit.

For me, I think about how good it feels to WANT to get on the scale and see a change or how much better I will feel when I am not so tired all the time

Besides the deep breathing exercises and tips I shared with Sasha, I repeat over and over to myself something I heard a long while back: "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels". I have no idea where I heard it, but it has been haunting me for a while now, lol. I also try to remind myself of all the things I'd like to do after I lose weight like go horseback riding, climb one of those rock wall things at the gym, and learn to rollerblade. I just don't want to feel trapped inside my body anymore. I want to get out and really LIVE.

Hi Susan,

For starters, I don't think about eating that cookie, or cheeseburger, or mac and cheese. If I want a cookie, I know how to make good low calorie, low fat ones. I never did like cheeseburgers, so that's not an issue. And as for mac and cheese, the Calorie Commando has a wonderful recipe for low calorie, low fat, and delicious mac and cheese. So if I want something I figure out a way how to make it a healthy choice. No problem. NONE!

Throw out any clothes that are too big for you. When you have only clothes that fit when you eat 100% on plan, it gives you very little leeway to cheat.

If you always make healthy choices then good for you, but in this post I was asking how those of us who sometimes have a weak moment deal with it. So if you have any suggestions on that front other than "just do it" we'd love to hear them. Otherwise I believe your comment was ill placed.

Just yesterday, I sat down and made a list of my motivators. That way when I'm not feeling so motivated, I can remind myself why I'm doing this.

I want to feel better, look better, shop at "normal" stores (and save money at the same time - plus sizes are expensive!), fit comfortably into seats (airplanes, movie theaters, booths at restaurants)... and my biggest one at the moment is I can't wait to see the looks on people's faces that I haven't seen in awhile. DH and I are going to visit my

in-laws for Thanksgiving, we only see them once a year. As an added bonus, my 10 year high school reunion is next year. I SHOULD be at goal at that point. I also made a list of mini-goals with dates of certain events (anniversary, holidays, etc). It helps me to visualize what I'm doing and be able to work towards something specific.
