Update on Ramey's arm- OT

We took Ramey to the dr. today to have his cast put on. The dr. took more X-rays and found that the bone has begun healing improperly. Ramey's scheduled for surgery early in the morning to have the arm rebroken and he'll be put to sleep for it. No one is really happy with this, but we'll deal with it. The poor little guy never cried over his arm when he broke it, or since, but the dr. telling him he needed to have it broken again did him in.

Hugs,

Mel

Oh for @!*! sake ! DON'T tell them how they re-break it - Ramey will head into a high-speed wobble! Give him a big hug and spoil him for me!

Tell him it's a shark hug, too !

Yes, SOMEONE please fill us in. I've broken several bones, but never had to have one rebroken. Ramey is convinced they're gonna use a mallet of some kind (Please, LET HIM BE WRONG!!!) and I don't know how it works. I know I'm not getting much sleep tonight. My cousin is babysitting Rina tonight so that she can leave for school from there and it's one less thing on my mind in the morning. I'll post as soon as I get a chance afterward. I'm really nervous about anesthetic. He's only 9 and he weighs 75 lbs. :-(

Oh the spoiling has been done- we rented a few movies, that he picked, he got to have fast food for dinner (his choice), and he got some candy on top of it all! He's really scared, and I hate that.

I wouldn't say that I love either of my children more than the other, ever. I met Ramey before I met Rina. He is the first one who called me Mommy, 5 years ago. He's the one who drives me SO crazy sometimes (because he acts like his father) and who melts my heart when he loses the tough guy act and wants to cuddle with Mom. You'd think I'd be old hat at this- 13 months ago Rina had viral meningitis and got down to 28 lbs, and was soo soooo sick- but my heart hurts for him and I hate feeling helpless. Grrrrrrrrrrsob.

oh Mel i can't imagine how you're feeling. My dd's never has any broken bones or needed any surgeries.

i hate seeing her sick just want to take the pain away and give it to myself. When she's had to have shots and starts crying i cry too..lol..the nurses always give me a hug, so pathetic but i just can't help it.

Take care of yourself!

Awww...I can relate. I have to be vigilant when Rina gets shots though. Ramey "takes it like a man". Rina once pulled the syringe out of her leg and threw it at the nurse. She has to be held down now. ;-)
