Astri (and anyone else who's interested),
In case you're Sunday's get busy, I just noticed you can catch the same episodes of Calorie Commando and that low carb guy (ugh) and Kathleen on Friday's, back to back mid-day.

I saw Kathleen Daeleman's "Cooking Thin" just before noon, but turned off "Low carb and lovin' it." That guy is ridiculous: today he was making meatloaf and made a big deal about "careful using onion, carbs" and "instead of bread you can use extra eggs and cheese." I mean, come on now. Anyway, I don't know if Daeleman's repeats, as the other two shows do? Or if every one of hers is one time only, or even the schedule. She was pretty good today, helping a man who cooks for himself and tended to "grab something" instead of making good food choices. It's another one of those which "will continue, next time" so it seems she's doing that a lot lately, to really treat various food issues in more depth. Thanks for mentioning her program here, because I never watched it before you said something and now I'm glad that I've started. Some really good ideas, there!

I don't know if Daelemans repeats either. I'll have to check the listings sometime, but what generally happens at my house is it's kinda *hit or miss.* I mean, if the tv is on the food channel as *background noise* while I'm doing other things, occasionally she comes on and I stop to watch. For a while I intentionally watched Calorie Commando and that low carb guy on Sundays (both are relatively new shows) but this weekend I was busy and I missed their repeats (if they repeated at all) yesterday. The low carb guy is a laugh a minute....I mean, come on, "heavy cream is a kitchen staple" and "load on the cheese" but then he counts the itsy bitsy bits of tomato or onion he can use and cautions about various veggies *as if* they were harmful! I'd say, he should worry more about the fat in that heavy cream and cheese....and less about the chopped onion! Anyway....good morning to you!

Is Food TV on the Food Network?
Thanks,
Faith
Oh, sure I do! I've learned a lot of new things and enjoyed food tv. I have my favorites, and Sunday's meal by Rachael Ray (30 minute meals) I tried straight-off. It was delicious, and healthier (not to mention lower in calories and fat) than the offerings by either of the *weight* shows which followed it. In fact, I think I'll take back my good words about Calorie Commando (those based on his first show). What's with all the Splenda and packaged stuff this guy uses? He's not worse than "Low Carb and Lovin' it" (that guy creates constant cardiacs on a plate) but I can't see eating that way.
Anyway, if the object is to eat healthy, and be healthy....and for those of us who enjoy good food and sharing it with friends.....a person can learn a lot from the food channel, and I'm enjoying it.....every chance I get. Other times, like the low carb guy...well, it's just for laughs.
You take care of your *sweet* self, now....hear!

If you saw Calorie Commando this Sunday....what did you think? I think he's too much into Splenda, Velvetta, and other packaged garbage to be useful here. I had hopes, but after his first show....it's all downhill. I'd be interested in your opinions.
