Astri (and anyone else who's interested),

In case you're Sunday's get busy, I just noticed you can catch the same episodes of Calorie Commando and that low carb guy (ugh) and Kathleen on Friday's, back to back mid-day.

Yes, two. One just came out in March 2004 and the other has been out a while (I'm not sure how long, but I own the first one). You should be able to find *both* at most bookstores (I got mine at Barnes and Noble), or on Amazon.com and for sure they have them on the food network website. She's pretty good!

Forte,

I had the same problems with it. And I too had high hopes for the show. I think Kathleen Daelemans is more useful, from a weightloss standpoint. Juan's idea is good...don't give up the foods you love, change them into healthier alternatives. Good idea. BUT then I'm not sure the alternatives he gives are so great. For instance, when he did the chocolate chip cookies the Sunday before...I think those things, for all their "renovation" had only 15-20 calories less than the original. Hardly worth the bother IMO. And to answer your question about this Sunday....I lost interest when he started making chili cheese fries....I think some foods are best abandoned, and REALLY I'd say that's a prime example of something which doesn't belong in any "healthy" diet. As you may have read, I'm getting over jaw surgery (doing well, but last week was a bust), so I'm probably not the right person for an intelligent discussion on this topic (at least not at the moment). I was kinda in-and-out-on pain meds. The Rachael Ray program just before these two shows DID seem good, and I was interested in the menu she gave....particularly since she built it around a needs-no-refrigeration picnic and as summer kicks into full swing...well, I'm especially game for those ideas. But I'll have to get back to you on that, because (with the jaw prob.) I can't even remember, offhand, what the entire thing consisted of. I read that you actually made it though...and I'll have to try (when I can chew well again) and then will get back to you.

How's it going, Forte?! Take care!
