Losing Weight Costs $$$ !!!

This is a rather bizarre post, but everyone is used to that by now I suppose. I had this idea of posting my shopping list from yesterday, and wondered what everyone else's shopping cart looks like(being the horrendously nosey shark that I am)and would like to debate/discuss food prices, whether processed food costs more than fresh whole foods, does anybody find it expensive to shop healthy, and does anyone enjoy grocery shopping (Or am I the only freakziod that does?)

I'll start by answering my own questions: I love to grocery shop, especially by myself. I can get it done faster, but have more time to choose, select, think without the distractions of my boyfriend. What an A$$PAIN he is to shop with. When I did Atkin's full-on, by-the-book, it seemed like I spent alot more on groceries and found myself making more trips for little crap that I ran out of. I feel it can be a bit more expensive in some ways to eat healthy, especially produce, because it's glacial in NH 9 months out of the year and the only thing that grow here are pine trees and cows. I know frozen entrees and highly procesde foods can get expensive, because you have to pay for the extra packaging, so on and so forth. I think some prices are higher for things regionally, so fill me in if this is the case. I would be interested in everyone's thoughts and what you shop for and your ideas.

OMG, i know. That is my total "eating" dilemma, girls! I need help bad. I wake up to wonderful coffee w/ 1/2n1/2, and creamed honey if I am cranky, (cuz I need it introveniously ususally:+), breakfast might be a 10 grain hot cereal or an english muffin with lemon curd, and if i am on top of things, I will have orange juice w/ Wheat Grass Powder that is so enerjizing (and fights the effects of stress), or a yogurt Protein shake, or a carrot-beet-apple freshly juiced drink from the Juice Man, or if I eat nothing, I am chewing my knuckles and drive thru Jack in the Box (aaaahhh!), lunch-if I am pms-ing is a deli salad and salt and vinegar chips stuffed in it, with a Diet Soda. I may eat trail mix for a snack, or an apple and cheese, and dinner is chinese take out, mexican take out, drive thru, if i work those 10-12 hour days, and then if not, i try to make a healthy dinner.

This is the cycle I think keeps me FAT. Up at 5:00 am, work at 6:30, off work at 6:30, home 7:30 ish, rest cuz my feet and knees have been hurting (I blame everything on weight), then try to spend time w/ ds, and I home school him cuz the schools in CA SUCK!not in bed until midnight and back at the crack o'dawn for another round of eating crap and body abuse under piles of stress.....

I joined the Walk it off thing for 3 years now, and get to see it in my email box, week by week, but save it so that two months later, i can see if i might get a walk...oh yeah, i volunteer weds nights for 3.5 hrs, sun for 8 hours, and other events when needed...

Yuk, my life looks like crap (in black, 10 pt font!) dede

Oh, Deedly-Dee! You need a break! If I had an opportunity to leave work during my shift, I'm sure I would be doing McDonalds every day, but I have to work thru and we can't leave , but the officers can and are our personal assistants sometimes. I have one 'completely trained' and he gets what I need without me even asking and he is like clockwork. He'd probably wash and vacuum my car, too, but that might be pushing it! But, what they do in the winter is go start our cars for us or put them in the port inside.

I try to pack lunch/dinner/whatever the night before, and keep snacks at work like celery, PB, apples, popcorn, almonds...I have a drawer soley for the pupose of food storage, and sometimes, the 'mice' get at it. The uniformed, gun-toting 'mice'. If I kept my gun in dispatch I'd defend that drwaer, but I don't mind sharing...sometimes. I make them beg for it first.

hang in there!
