I'm on day 11 of phase one for South Beach and I've lost 6 lbs. Considering this is my second time on it, I think it's great. All in all, I've managed to lose 17 lbs with South Beach. I did cheat a little yesterday, though, but not to worry. I knew what I was doing, and I still didn't cheat that much. Go willpower! I just knew I would gorge later if I didn't do something, and it's what I needed. Not too proud to face that, but if it works...
I think I finally figured out why I have so much trouble losing in phase two though, which is part of the reason I've been so unmotivated. I typically overdo the "reintroduce the carbs" thing. So, I'm going to continue keeping a close eye on what I'm eating and limit myself to the carb splurging. It's typically the dang bread, tortillas, and wheat crust pizza. I'm only going to let myself enjoy those things a maximum of two times a week, except on special occasions. Then only maybe three. I know I can do it so no excuses.
My next goal, when I start phase 2 next week, is to also begin exercising. That will be the determining factor. I haven't decided what I'm going to do, but I know it must be done. We'll see.
