George Foreman grill?

I finally bought one, and wonder if others are using an indoor grill of any kind? Since mine is fairly new, I haven't used it much. The ham steak and a rib eye seemed a little dry, and the grilled peppers and onions seemed more "steamed" than grilled.....BUT the grilled pineapple, banana, plum and peach which I had with organic yogurt this morning were DIVINE! I heard Bobby Flay recommend a simple "healthy" dessert of grilled fruit with a little honey sweetened yogurt on top (I think he added cinnamon) and thought I'd give that a whirl, but for breakfast (not dessert) and the organic yogurt I used tastes so wonderful anyway that it really didn't need a boost!

I have been an advocate of the foreman for years..since it came out..my parents have used it for years as well..so often in fact they have to replace it every 6 months or so...we recently bought the george foreman stand upright grill (ggr5ob) here is a link and we love it..but I think I liek the other ones more when you can

Hi Astri,

I think mine must be one model down from yours: it's white (no bun warmer) and they have it at Target for $17.99. I didn't use it today; maybe tomorrow.

Ouch! I'll be careful, and in fact instead of cooking on my butcher block counter top with it I think I'll move it to a fireproof place while using. Thanks!

Hi Astri,

I had one....used it just a couple of times....thought it left meat too dry and veggies too mushy...and, well, it's in the back of the cupboard someplace (I think, maybe, perhaps). Frankly, I much prefer just a plain cast iron grill which sits over the burners on one side of the stove when I want it. The more you use one of those things, the more seasoned it becomes, the better the food seems to taste, the stronger the sear! Good luck with yours! I agree on grilled fruit. Pineapple is a wonderful treat, particularly, on the grill.
