What are three things you're doing this weekend to help stay on track?

Believe it or not, I actually do much better on weekends than I do during the week. I'm more active on the weekends, as opposed to sitting at a desk all week. I also have more time to get in more exercise. And I'm so busy doing things that I actually don't eat as much. As a matter of fact, I changed my weekly weigh in from Saturday morning to Sunday morning because the Sunday morning reading is always better than the Saturday morning reading. What I do have trouble with on the weekends, though, is getting all my water in. So I'm going to concentrate on getting my water in this weekend. I know that's not three things, but that's something that I definitely need to work on.

Hopefully I won't get derailed this weekend..I am switching to Midnight shifts, so alot of my time during the day will be spent sleeping, because I have to do it in shifts. I tend to lose weight on these shifts because I just can't eat at 3:30-4:00 in the morning sometimes..So sometimes I eat before I go to bed, sometimes I don't.

My new birth control pill has made me a little carb crazy and I started bleeding AGAIN. ACK!!!I am going to try and stay on track and keep the carbs alot lower..it's just that if I smell bread or have a little piece, I lose it and binge on it - but only 2 or 3 slices. I COULD eat half the loaf, but I'd DIE.

Less carbs..les carbs...less carbs...

Love Y'all!

Amy

Also, I'm riding horse-ie poo today so that will keep me away from the food as well.

Oh, I WISH I owned! I have done half-leases, trained, did lessons when I was younger (started at 8)and have been a trail guide on and off for a few years at a ski resort where they did rides all year round. It was tough in the winter - not because of the cold, though. We would have on so many layers, if we ever fell off or had to get off on the trail for some reason, we'd never be able to get back on. Arms & legs wouldn't bend. Remember that holiday movie, A Christmas Story? The little brother who was dressed to the eyes? Yeah, that was us.

I have worked in several barns/farms/'equine facilities' (Oh get OVER yourself!)and taught kids for a few years. I was actually riding a horse from Kyle's uncle's place. He is two years older than me and I've known him and worked for him (wildlife tours/education)for a while, and last year he got into doing trail rides as a buisness in summer, snowmobiles in the winter. He is always telling Kyle and I to come down and ride, so I did. Kyle, although he won't admit it, is scared of horses. He likes them, but is really nervous around them.

I have to tell you, the horse I rode today was just wonderful! Not only did she not give me a hard time about riding away from the barn and the other horses, she listened well, was very responsive, and fast as hell. And I have NEVER been trail riding by my self - I'm usually with someone, so I was a little apprehensive about being alone on a horse I've never ridden, but Larry trusts her completely and we did a little bit of bonding before we left. We rode thru woods, the river, fields, abandoned barns, across wooden bridges and RR tracks....I was out for about an hour and had the most WONDERFUL time! The horse, Annie, is a Belgian crossed with something else. She looks like a Belgian, just isn't as BIG. I love draft horses and Belgians are nice because they can be a bit smaller than Shires and Clydesdales. She was sweet and just a good, bomb-proof horse.

Can't wait to ride her again! The other place I ride at gets expensive for lessons, and Kyle wants to buy me a horse but we can't afford the board right now. When I get my credit card bill paid off I will, and that should be in two or three years, so he'll have the $$ by then. Believe it or not, if you aren't into showing and all that jazz, horses are NOT expensive. The VET is, LOL! And the farrier, and it's apartment...But in reality, the actual horse and it's food are fairly cheap. Just don't let it get sick or injured! OMG!!! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Do you ride much? If you do, do you do English or Western? (I do both, but am partial to English).

Amy (who apparently gets on a total BLATHER when it comes to horses!)
