Our Weekend- OT

YAY! They arrived around 6:45 on Friday night. I didn't care about the white gloves from that moment on. I swear I have never, ever been as immediately comfortable with someone in my life. Aside from everything we have in common, the blend of humor and sarcasm, wit and wisdom we are treated to from Furry's posts has NOTHING on how she is in person. I did NOT feel as if I were meeting them for the first time, I felt like family had come to visit. Except I liked them more than I do most of my family ;-)
We played a lot of cards, had a few drinks, visited the Chief Blackhawk statue, had lunch in Oregon, IL at an oldies drive-in called Jay's, went to the Reagan memorial, played Dance Dance Revolution, and Rob wrestled with all the children much to their delight. This morning Furry made us breakfast (I feel SO grateful to have had a weekend reprieve from the kitchen- Thanks so much, Rob and Furry!).
I felt like I was having a slumber party since Rob took the couch and Furry, her daughter and I shared my room. I really had a wonderful time and all of my fears seemed to be for naught, because I think everyone had fun. I love her kids- they are VERY engaging children, and so intelligent! My animals reveled in the attention they received and I can't imagine a better weekend. They left today a bit before 1 and I was sad to see them go, but excited knowing that we're only an hour and a half away from each other and visits can happen often. :-)
hugs to all, and hope you had wonderful weekends as well!
