Hi everyone!
I'm new here. I've been married for almost 5 years now to the PERFECT man. I have a super job and am finishing my master's degree from an excellent school in a week with a 4.0. So I should be happy right? Umm no. I'm 29 and have been on a battle with this weight for what seems like forever. I was never tiny, but was never out of control either until I was put on prednisone several years ago (large doses for 18 mos.) for asthma and BALLOONED. I am also hypothyroid which adds to the fun. I started full force on June 1 and have lost 12.8 lbs since then. But I have SOOO far to go. My goal is 145 which is another 167 lbs away. I feel like I am never going to get there. How do you stay motivated and not feel like it's never going to happen? It seems so hard to look at that calendar and imagine how long it's going to be before I can be where I want to be, if at all. HELP!
Thanks!
KC

Ditto as far as Shawna's and Linda's sentiments go...I agree, when you look at the big picture, it can be daunting. Give it time and go for 10 pounds or so at a time. Every time you get to a new 'level' (like when I went from the 200's to 199 (who cares! ONE pound makes a difference!)you feel so happy and motivated, and the more you lose, the more comvinced you are that it CAN be done. Of course it can be DONE, but seeing results really helps - you know what I mean, LOL! Feel free to ask questions and welcome to the board!

Hello KC:
I think we all know that feeling of thinking "How am I going to lose over 100 lbs????" But many of us have and many of us are well on our way and many of us, well let's just say we're beginning again.

hi and welcome KC...Congrats on your loss so far . I hope you cna get some suppor tout of this board I know I have and have made some excellent friends along the way . I agree with Shawna when she said making small goals...It is so much more realisitc to think 10% or 5 pounds at a time rather than 150 pounsd to lose KWIM?
anywho welcome to the group and I hope to see ya around!
glad to see you join our little group
to motivate myself i made myself a webpage and keep track of weight and inches lost. There's times when i feel discouraged on how slow it's taking but i think it's just part of the journey.
