I am sure many of us have tried more than one diet in the past before finding the one that worked.

It has been asked before, probably several occasions but I sure dont mind answering again =)

Well, I remembered last night that my dieting career started when I was 15 and I did that atrocious "Coke Diet".

The only one that has worked for me is counting calories.I'm not the type of person who can give up certain foods easily,so this way,I can still eat(in moderation of course)the foods I like, still get in the healthy foods my body deserves, and lose the weight.I also try to get in at least 64oz. of water daily, and exercise is a must...which I hate doing =/ but oh well, lol.

Well....err,when I do count calories it does work for me,lol.I have to admit,I haven't counted calories in a while(well,am now again)...so the weightloss had slowed to a trickle.

Someone had mentioned Fitday.com when I first started on this board(think it was Rely =)),and that really helped me figure out how many calories different foods had(it lists many different types). You can also keep track of how many calories you've consumed throughout the day at that site, along with exercise and weightloss. It was a real eye opener when I first started watching my intake O.o

I have since started counting calories again,so we'll see how it goes.I know that when I stopped doing it for a while, while I didn't gain...I wasn't losing either, but I also tried to remember what foods I ate and the calories they were when planning some meals.

I agree, Fitday.com has really helped me see what I'm doing wrong in the food department.

I am on the South Beach Diet and love it.

Previously, I'd work out at almost the same intensity I am now (well now that I am a certified instructor I work out SMARTER, not harder) but I did this for almost 3 years and saw maybe 2 pounds gone from the scale all that time.

SBD helped me REALLY lose the weight and get smart about what to eat..it's not restrictive (only the first phase, which lasts for 2 weeks is) and very easy to follow.

I'm just eating sensibly, exercising (of some sort) sensibly. I don't think that I personally would use someone else's "plan" for my life, whether that means what to eat or anything else. It just takes normal healthy eating, every day, and normal healthy living, every day (which of course includes getting out there and moving a bit). Nothing extraordinary for me.

Hello dear hot one! It's 105 today, right? I'd kill for 105 and dry. Even 110 ! I think I sent you what I was doing, and it has been a blessing, because it's foods i love anyway, and I can have an attack of the nasties once or twice a month and it doesn't have an impact, at least not for more than a day. I am maintaining between 160 -161, because I am in hormone HELL right now with my new pill...

But, to refresh memory, I am doing a low fat version of Atkins: low fat, low carb, 1300-1500 calories a day and keeping carb intake to under 77g. When I keep my carbs under 50, I notice a difference. I saw a dietician for this primarily to lower my cholesterol, and it did work. It went down EIGHTY points.

I began Atkins in January, and did well. Now (when I'm being good) I am still doing low-carb (with PCOS and insulin resistance this is the best thing I feel I can do for myself) but I also watch fat intake (thanks Sharky).
