I am just full of questions this morning!

I got an email from a friend, and before passing it on, thought I would come here and ask about it.

Basically, the email states the dangers of Apsertame, namely the ingredient used in artificial sweeteners.

With my hubby being diabetic,we use splenda quite often(hubby has to have his orange kool-aid).From what I can remember,I think diet rite uses splenda, though I could be wrong...but the Splenda site lists many different products that use it.

I never did like the other sugar substitutes much....glad I don't use them, blech!

The last time was when I was in Texas, in 1991, when my grandmother died.

Whether aspertame is safe or not is something which has been up in the air, and argued, for any number of years now. I personally just try to play it safe and keep artificial things out of my body whenever possible. I feel, generally, it's better safe than sorry. In other words....I don't know about this latest, because I just try to avoid it altogether.

I have heard this before too, and had looked it up because when I do drink soda, it's Diet Pepsi. This is what I found, and I hope it helps. :-)

Kerstin,

I think that's one substance which was going to be taken off the market, years ago, for causing cancer in lab rats. But then through some political maneuvering, some new "testing," is was left on. I'm not too clear on it, and it's just that *way back then* I started trying to avoid food additives altogether. So I must admit, I haven't paid much attention because I tend to prefer *all natural* and *organic* (when I can get it) in any foodstuffs, so this just hasn't pretained to me. Sorry, I don't know more about it.

thanks for posting the link Mel!

It's amazing what some people will pass on, kinda like the email to 10 friends and get good/bad luck, or you'll lose your email, you'll see an animation, you'll get a certificate.
