fresh vegetables from your own gardens (or container gardens) yet? We have wonderful tomatoes....and it's so GREAT to have tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, instead of those tasteless things found in the grocery stores for so long! We have eggplant, tomatoes, peppers...all kinds of peppers...and for breakfast this morning I savored an omelet with fresh herbs....basil and dill, and some others....and a fresh tomato still warm from the vine! Oh, I love summertime.

Anyone else having fun with your own gardens?

I'm not sure how to explain it, but I'll try. It looks like a yellow chili pepper and has a flavor I think is milder than a green pepper. It tastes great fresh out of the garden. My kids like to pick them and eat them as a snack. My dh loves to put them on Pizzas and Sub sandwiches. My mom pickles them and serves them with chili and stews in the Winter months. I think they are mostly grown in the South, but I could be wrong. I don't know a lot about growing veggies, but I'm blessed with parents and a husband who do.

We're pretty far north - the last snow wasn't that long ago- so we only just planted, but I'm looking forward to it.

Hi Forte,

We have a deck, so we have tomato plants....and some peppers, and some herbs, mixed among the flowers. I know what you mean about plastic store tomatoes, and I can hardly wait for our first real tomatoes homegrown to turn ripe! How goes it, today?
