One year ago...

Wow. I haven't been on here in at least 3 months. But I started thinking...it was one year ago this week that I decided to start losing weight, and came to this board after reading about it in a Wall Street Journal article. At the time, I weighed around 330, and was wearing size 48 pants. As of today, I am wearing 44's and I weigh 289. My lowest weight was 269 just before Thanksgiving. It was about the same time that I started dating a girl with whom I was very much enamored with, and I started to slide off my diet gradually, and posting less frequently on this site.
I kind of fell off my diet after me and my (ex)girlfriend broke up in March. Add that to the stress of grad school, and I was one unhappy, depressed dude. All of a sudden, I didn't really care anymore. I ate because it made me feel so good, and the food filled the void of loneliness and rejection I felt (only to cause me to get depressed over how much I ate).
Surprisingly, I only gained 10 lbs. (I weighed 279 in March). I guess I did have enough sense to keep drinking water and diet drinks, and continue to eat fat-free and low-cal foods (even though I gorged on them). I feel like I am back to normal, and I am ready to re-commit myself to losing weight again (I want to be 220 by June 2005).
I would like to thank all of the ladies on this board who helped me this past year, and I hope we can all continue to celebrate our successes together.
Have a great day,
Tony
