I know I haven't been as active on here as I was a while back, but life has a way of just putting it's foot down and saying NOW! Soooo here's what's up around here....

First of all, WELCOME to all new people! It's great to see so many wonderful additions to our little corner of the Web. (ew....bad visual of all of our faces on little spider bodies hanging out in a corner of a web...I gotta get to bed!)

Second, WELCOME BACK to those returning to the board and returning from vacations (not that I'm jealous, FAITH!).

All cozy over here now....I've been doing a lot of reading lately. I've also been exercising alot and really enjoying my kids. The summer reading program at the library has given us a great opportunity to spend time together, and I am a passionate lover of books, so a chance for me to pass that on. Monday nights the children have a presentation about the American West (stories last week, Cowboy songs this week, etc), on Wednesday's they have a visitor who tells about what it was like to be Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea, and on Thursdays they have crafts. Today they both made BEAUTIFUL dreamcatchers. They're both reading ALOT and enjoying it, so I am glad for that. Ramey will get his cast off on Monday, and not sure yet if he has to have another one. He and Rina are both very glad that it's summer and they are having fun. Rob has been working a lot. I had planned to build Ramey a loft bed and desk this summer so I could do away with his race car bed, but I don't have to now. Rob's grandfather is doing it for me (and he's a lot better at it, incidentally) and I really can't wait to see the finished product. Rob's doing well, but very tired.

I am hoping to get financial aid to go back to school in the fall. I'm really looking forward to it, while simultaneously very nervous about not living up to my own standards. Wish me luck! And thank you to those I've spoken to about it- You made me feel alot better!

I will be around more often. take care all and see you around :-)

In addition- thank you to EVERYONE who was so sweet about my stat confession. Kinda makes me wonder why I was so darned scared in the first place.

Hi Mel,

Sounds like your summer's off to a good start! I hope Ramey enjoys his loft bed. That sounds cool! And I'm glad you're taking classes this fall. You're going to do great! I always enjoy going back and taking classes. I haven't done it in a while, but maybe soon I'll take some more classes. Good luck!

Hi Mel! First of all, I wanted to say that I was really proud of you when you posted your stats. I wonder if you felt like I did when I posted mine. It was a combination of scared, disgusted, fear of being judged, and above all, not wanting to actually admit it to myself that YES I DID WEIGH THAT MUCH. ACK!

Sounds like summer is going to be fun, and GO TO SCHOOL! I'll walk you through it if I have to!!! I went through the same thing last year getting into nursing school for RN, and did all the pre-exam, filing for this n'that, going to open house, applying, blah blah blah. Unfortunately, I was in the top 100 of the applicants, but the only have room for 80. (insert long list of vile expletives here)

If you can go to school, do it. You are never to old for school, and you should never stop learning. Most of my education has been 'non-tradtional'.

Big hugs,

Amy
