What was your biggest motivation this week? Everyone has different inspirations at different times for different reasons... what kept you going last week?

My biggest motivation was trying to hit the 30 pound mark. I missed it by a half a pound, but I know I'll make it next week.

My mad-cow freak out the other night where I posted a major whiny rant.

That, and today, where SOMEBODY saw 158 on the scale.

Congrats Amy on that 158. My motivation (most recently) is my knees. They're killing me and I'd like to take off enough to get them back to normal!

After that...it's all vain motivations! I want a hot bod!!!!

Yeah ! And I can sympathize with your knees situation, babe. When I was 260 I tore my meniscal cartilage in my left knee simply because of my weight. I was not gifted with appropriate size bones, I swear. Tiny ankles and knees, hands like a child. (My SKULL however, is thick as hell, LOL)

After phys therapy, I felt better, and Spamsammich gave me a suggestion to strengthen my knees. I have a cheapo rubber ball, about 8 inches wide. I sit down, place it between my knees and squeeze the crap out of it for a while. It has helped quite a bit. I even get fancy and lay on my back with both legs straight up, ball between knees, and squeeze as I do crunches. After about 20 of those I scream and kivvy around and lay there for a while, dreaming of fudge.

Ibuprofen and ice always help. Especially if the ice is surrounded by Tanqueray and tonic.

As of today, my biggiest motivation is wanting to make up for not sticking to my plan yesterday. I went to my parent's house for dinner with the whole family. My mom layed out fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, corn pudding, deviled eggs, biscuits, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, and apple pie buffet style. I didn't eat as much as I used to at a dinner like this, but I did have things that aren't on my eating plan (potato salad, corn pudding, pie). I feel just a tad guilty, but dang it was YUMMY!

Anyway, I'm going to start on the plan Amy shared on a previous post and see if I can make up for my "no-no's" from yesterday.

I'm not sure that major premise works, because my motivation pretty much stays the same. It's to be healthy and live a long enjoyable life. Living well is, after all, a strong and constant motivator.
