I've seen how everyone has little goals along the way that they've chosen, and tried to reach, along with their desired ending weight.

How exactly do you decide what goal is your first step, second step, etc. Is everyone different - some it may take a year to reach, others just a few months - or is there a "process" to this ?

Thanks !

I dont think there is really a process to it unless you are following weight watchers like me.

Hi Christy,

Well, not everyone! Not me! Though having little goals along the way is, as I've noticed too, the way many folks here seem to have gone about it. To each his/her own.

For me, I just decided about a year ago to change some things about the way I live my life...and I changed those things, on that very day. And then, I just keep it up.

For example, I use to be so busy that I'd just grab coffee in the morning, often skip lunch, and than grab some fast food on the way home from work. And then I'd get home so tired that the LAST thing I wanted to do was go out and get some exercise.

I don't live that way any more, not even one time. I make time for myself every day. I changed my schedule, in order to live life more sensibly, and to have more fun along the way.

Nowadays, every morning I have a HEALTHY breakfast (with the emphasis on **healthy**), and I have a HEALTHY lunch (at lunch time), and a HEALTHY dinner. And I like to end my day with a beautiful walk. Some days, obviously, I do other kinds of things for exercise too. I enjoy swimming, and biking, and all kinds of things.

I guess, though, if you say "what kind of mini goals" did I set up along the way....well, in all honesty, there are SOME. My goals every week are to find some new and interesting things to do, often that don't involve food (though sometimes they do). Whether it's going to the zoo (even if it's by myself, for a long long walk) or maybe on a sailboat ride, or maybe taking in a *freebie* (or not so freebie) cooking class, or (as I've mentioned on the board before) watching the cooking channel on tv and trying out a new *healthful* recipe or going to the library or a bookstore and cozying up in the cookbook section for some new ideas (and usually a new book to buy or check out). Anyway, my *mini goals* seem to be all about finding new ways to have fun, with the free time I have (or can make for myself).

Whatever floats your boat. Just have FUN along the way. Keep it simple, and keep it enjoyable.

actually not everyone has little goals, maybe you think the middle number in the stats are little goals but it's actually

starting or highest weight/current weight/goal weight

some people have min goals 10-20 lbs others have a goal to just reach onderland then figure out or have goal for final goal weight.
