Hey ladies,

Been awhile since I've been here, but wanted to pop in and say hello. I can finally say we are settled into our new place in AZ. The move was a rough road with a trip to the dentist for me 3 hrs after we got here. Ugh, it was agony (absess). So the doc stocked me up with tons of antibiotics and plenty of percocet. Now the fun part began, unloading the friggin truck. So we're unloading and this ole girl is flying on the painkillers so dh finally called a friend of ours who luckily recently relocated back to AZ. too. Phew, no more boxes for me! LOL. The next day we have to unload all the stuff that's going to storage and dh sprains his ankle halfway thru. Seeing a fat girl hopped up on pain killers sweatin her arse off in 110 degree heat is not a pretty site! I was ready to close the door on the truck and turn it in that way, it was so bad. But I activated my super powers and got it done on my own.LOL Woo hoo for me!

As I had told you before I had decided to do Atkins. It's working beautifully. I am 32 lbs. lighter since the end of April and I feel awesome! Definitely have found what works for me, something I can live with forever. No more deprivation for me! Are the other ladies who started Atkins still active here on the board? I see alot of new names and a few familiar ones too.

Well, that's me for now. Just wanted to share of my progress so far. Hope everyone is doing well in all their endeavors and enjoying the summer.

hugs,

danielle~

Hi Shawna. I just read your post. I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling so much, no one deserves that. Atkins has been an absolute godsend to me. It's been so incredibly easy that I often wonder why I waited so long to do this. I think maybe mostly it's because now I am FINALLY ready to lose. Does that make sense? I've had to do alot of work mentally to get to this point. Dealing w/ old issues weight related and some not and it all seems to have worked wonders.

I do hope that you will give the plan a chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

It does take some planning & prep work but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.

Staples you ask...let's see...

salad greens

dressing

canned chicken(watch out for added ingredients such as starch or sugars) I get it just in water

splenda

cream cheese

water

cheese

eggs

meats: chicken/pork/some hamburger

various veggies: cucs, celery, onions, gr. onion, mushrooms, asparagus, green beans, peppers, cauliflower

sugar free syrups

I cannot stress the water enough. Water! Water! Water! I drink a gallon+ a day, I crave it so much.

I feel like I'm forgetting things so if I remember something I'll post again! LMK if there's anything else you need. Just be careful with the knowledge that this plan isn't supposed to be used as a quick fix. As soon as you go off and do something different the weight will come back. My dh found out the hard way , tried to warn him but hey, what can I say?! Men!! LOL. I think if you truly are able to give it a chance though you'll find you feel really good doing it.
