Suddenly (over the past few weeks) I have had no qualms about being naked. Don't know why. Good thing people know before they come in!
Amy ;)
However, letting the inner pagan out HAS to occur occassionally - and I agree...nothing is quite as invigorating as a romp in the garden sans clothing...makes you feel so free! Go without the flip flops next time...damp grass between the toes adds to the effect.

Well right now, I kinda have a crush on my son's T-ball coach!

I decided to practice Wicca because it is not book based (no Torah or Bible) and it is adaptable to almost anyone's lifestyle. It makes me feel calm, centered, and has seriously improved my general attitude. It focuses on manipulating the inner self to be more rcetive to the things you are trying to accomplish, and no one has really given me a hard time about it - yet. Althogh when I told my best friend yesterday, she LAUGHED and called me silly! I asked her why she said that, and she said I was just a weirdo. I responded, " I don't think YOU are silly or weird for being JEWISH."
THAT shut her up!
Hey, some people take it more seriously than others, but when you openly LAUGH at someone's religious choice, that is TOTALLY GAY.
(She will be the FIRST one I turn into a Newt!)
Amy ;)
You can tell your friend who laughed at you for wanting to practice Wicca, that Judism, like many other religions, are based on the same premise of beliefs as Wicca (though Wicca was only officially organized in the 1950s it follows ancient Celtic and Druid traditions). It was only when men - and yes I do mean MEN (but don't get me wrong I adore them..in fact I want one for my own but I digress)- got their hands on the idea that with religion you can control people that it drifted away from the original spiritual, female influence.
I have a ton of books on ancient religions, so if you're ever interested let me know and I can recommend a few.
What's funny though, when a friend of mine's father (who is VERY Catholic) found out about my sister he was freightened - to truly believe in any religion you have to believe in mystical/unexplainable powers. Your friend must not truly belief in her own religion if she finds your spirtuality humourous. But in all honesty I think she just doesn't know about what Wicca really means - it isn't what that awful show portrays (I can't remember the name of it) but it's more a complete understanding our our relationship with our surroundings, each other and our selves...with a particular focussing on the Mother.
In the meantime...enjoy your individuality!
Oy I sound too bloody serious! Sorry about that.
Cheers
Lisa
