Do any of the websites like fitday help you out? If not, how about just browsing through Borders or another bookstore in your neighborhood.

I just count calories, and fat grams, and that information is on labels of course. Don't the actual package labels give you the information you need, Shawna?

Hi Shawna,

I'm not low carbing, but I was on Amazon.com and found this book that looks like it lists all the things that you need. I've never used it, but it has good reviews.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0440200628/ref=pd_sbs_b_3/104-5279662-3191933?v=glance&s=books

There are probably others, too, but you're probably looking for a recommendation from someone who's already using a book.

The Complete Book of Nutrition - Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. It's big, but only 17.95. Anthing one could ever even want to know is in that thing. And I also recommend the Complete Idiot line of books - they are orange and white -they are a good, well laid out, easy to get through type book. And there is a CI Guide to Nutrition. I have a couple of these books myself (mine is CI Guide to Paganism). Whatever you have for a local bokstore (Barnes & Noble ?), go park yourself in the nutrition aisle and start leafing thru the selections. I usually find a good match that way. (If only there were not 20,00 books on the same subject and some of them worthless)

Hope that helps,

Amy

No, never have. It sounds very complex. Doesn't your Atkins book give the info you want?

In my produce department (when I buy fruits and veggies there) the nutrition info is on the back of the bag holding the product, or if not there...our stores have pamphlets right in the produce department with nutrition info.

I don't buy any processed stuff in boxes, so I wouldn't even care about that. If it's not fresh, I don't eat it! But the information on nutrition is right there in the supermarket. Your grocery stores probably have similar information for their customers, if you look for it (or ask).

I used fitday, for a couple weeks, when I first started. I suggested it, since you seem to be online more often than I am, and I thought it might be convenient for you. Particular books? I don't use, but your local bookstores or the library should have an abundance if you need to get the info that way. Of course, grocery store pamplets (and the info on packages) are FREE, so try that.
