Hi everyone, I'm new here and just starting out on changing my lifestyle to be healthier, happier, and have a longer life. I am 24 from north Iowa, and hoping to lose around 120 pounds - a long road is ahead. I have been reading Jorge Cruise's 8 Minutes in the Morning Real Shapes Real Sizes, and am just starting the fitness/diet program this week. I'm so glad to see how many other people are here to talk to. I can't wait to share in everyone's success including my own!! Have a great day everyone!

Welcome, Shannon! Losing a lot of weight can seem overwhelming, but if you break it up into smaller "mini" goals it will make it seem less daunting. Congrats on making the decision to make some changes! I'm sure we'll be hearing about your successes before you know it :)

Welcome Shannon!

I just received the same program (Jorge Cruise's 8MM) yesterday! I'm planning to start the exercise program on Monday! I have a lot of weight to lose too, so maybe we can support each other with this. I have to read more about how the program works, but I am looking forward to beginning it soon. Did you start the program already? How do you like it?

That's great! I'm excited to find someone else on the program! I actually spent all last weekend reading the book first, I definitely recommend it before starting the program. I only started the workouts this week (Monday). So far, I love it. I have found that I need to wake up about 15 minutes earlier, but I feel energized. The moves are simple, but I have definitely "felt the burn" but not enough that I am in pain. The food plan is simple, and so far I have found a lot of freedom to eat my favorite foods, and I haven't been hungry - every day you get to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks. I also try to walk the dog at least 4 times a week for 45 minutes, but I need some motivation there. I like how the plan is to lose 2 pounds per week so that your skin can react appropriately, and I have set a long term goal and several short term goals. My long term goal actually is to be healthy not just to lose 120 pounds, but that will be a plus! I can't wait to start seeing results! I can't wait to hear how the program goes for you!!

Hi, I am Stephanie; I am 25, also new to the board, and have 130 lbs. to lose. The best advice I've gotten here so far is 'small goals'. Right now, I am working on a plan that will set me up for success, so I hope I can be of some assistance to you once I am up and running. Everyone here is very supportive.
