What is everyone doing to lose weight? I am in need of some ideas (besides walking). Please keep in mind that I have a 7 year old and a 9 month old with me all day long.

What exercise videos are good (good music too - baby likes to dance). :)

Rebounding!!

Not ONLY an excellent cardio workout (and low impact too!), but it helps stimulate the lymph system (which, as we all know, is one of the keys to efficiently flushing fat!). Check this out: http://www.urbanrebounding.com/

Reknowned nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman and fitness guru Joanie Greggains are both enthusiastic fans of rebounding!

best wishes,

I would suggest Walk Away the Pounds as a good beginner workout (even good when you've been doing it a while).

How about Winsor Pilates? I was actually thinking of trying it myself.

I ADORE pilates! (see me gush more about it here: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-fb100plus&msg=116274.1&ctx=0 ) I was fat and old and slow when I first started (the winsor ones, yep!) so I had to do the modified moves. Then I progressed to the 20minute workout.

These days I do the body sculpting workout EVERY morning. It's given me back range-of-motion, built long lean muscle, and in conjunction with the fat flush plan, put me in a lovely slender body the likes of which I never dreamed could be mine (went from 41/37/44 and size 2x to 36/29/37 size 6-8!! Wahoooooooooooooooo!!).

I can touch my toes (and SEE 'em!), grab m'forearms behind my back, put my hands flat on the floor while keeping my legs straight.

Oh...and my inner brat's getting bolder (not to mention she just celebrated her 14th birthday! heh heh!)

I just eat properly, try to write it down, and engage in some kind of activity most days. It may be nothing more than a shopping trip, or long walk early in the morning or before bedtime, or it may be something more scheduled, like dance classes I mentioned in another post. I think what's important is just to find things you enjoy doing, and then do them. There are so many possibilities, with or without your small children along.

Elise, I like the Walk Away the Pounds videos and I sometimes use a Yoga for Weightloss video.

Good luck finding your niche. Hugs, Brenda
