OMG! I'm having a totally crappy day at work and you pretty much said everything I've been feeling! I hate it here and I have no other prospects :( I can't just quit my job!

We got our mid-year bonuses and mine was cut back by 75%! I asked why and they said my performance was "questionable". I'm the 2nd top performer on my team! I didnt argue, just went back to my desk, fuming. I work hard, and it's frustrating when that isn't recognized. I often wonder if I was thin, would I get treated the same way. I think no matter what I do, I'm always going to be seen as lazy. And now that's effecting my pay and I'm ticked!

I'm a mortgage broker, so #s count. Big time! I'm always at target or above target and this is what I get??? Everyone else got their full bonuses, even though they've done nothing all year!

I think it's time for a group hug... ((((HUGGGGSSSS))))...

Sorry you had a bad day...Hopefully you're day will get better...I know how work can be and how it feels to be underaprreciated, but try not to let them get to you...just remember to smile, it'll make you feel a little bit better...

((Kerstin)) ((Susan)) - I completely understand, and can relate to, your woes today. It must be a universally bad-work day because I'm steaming here at my desk too. I've been waiting for my review for 2 months now (my 2-year anniversary was in June), each time I ask my manager about it, he makes jokes. To him, it may be a joke....to me, I need any little raise I might get (3% is the usual....watch out Bill Gates, I'm going to take over the Richest American spot!!). On top of that, the favorites are so very obvious here. My dept gets no kind of bonus, although everyone else does (95% of the employees are men). We are constantly being told how to do things, and when we do them, we're told they are wrong! We're the VERY last to know when a new customer comes along, even though we are supposed to manage the new accounts. Grr Grr Grr to them!

Sorry for the long vent. Grr. :-/

Hey girls: Thanks so much and I'm sorry to hear about the "universal" issue we all seem to be having today.

You have to be happy, so do what it takes to get there. It could mean changing jobs, but maybe not. Just weigh your options, and do what satisfies you and what meet your needs best (both financial and otherwise). It's really your decision, after all.
