DID YAS MISS ME????

I just needed some time to step back and regroup. I've gained back about 9lbs--totally my fault--but hey, there was some stress going on. Still stressin' but managing it better.

Anywho, I am back to counting calories and WRITING EVERYTHING down. I will probally have to do this for the rest of my life. Overeating is a very bad habit for me and I have to retrain my brain (constantly it seems!) to find other, healthier ways to cope with stress. Exercise helps, but since I am such an all or nothing type person, injuries send me into a tailspin. Yup, re-injured the bad knee. I'm feeling better, but no more step for me. I still do Gilad's Step & Tone, but without the step and I still get a good workout. I was pleasantly surprised that any good step workout can be done without the step and still be fun.

We also go for walks every evening now. Me, DH, DS (rides his bike) and both dogs. Sure is funny to see the dogs get all excited about going "walkies" isn't it? Damn! wish I could get THAT happy about exercise!!!

Dogs are great motivators!

Hi,

You probably won't have to write it down *all* your life, but for the time-being it's probably useful. I do the same thing. I've counted calories and fat grams in a little notebook for the past year, and been successful losing weight as I wanted to doing just that. But in recent weeks/months I only write down occasionally (if I'm concerned about it) and after a year of *paying attention* it's almost automatic to me. I know how many calories and fat grams I've eaten in the day, when to stop eating, and what I should be doing. So I think I'm *almost* weaned away from my notebook. But still, it's good to just keep track on some days, and some more than others.

Continued success to you.

Glad to see you back, Deb! I know how hard it is to get back on track, so congratulations for doing just that. Hope to see more of you around here :)

Thanks! Btw, love your quote from "Lord of the Rings". I need to remember that! Iwant to see those movies. I suffer from just seeing bits and pieces of movies because I am always playing catch-up with things around the house!

Yeah, I'll be around more regular. I need to get back on track! Especially with the exercise. It's been pretty sporadic, but at least I've been walking! Just a mile, but better than nothing.

Thank you so much for all the support you (and a few others) have been giving me during this very trying time.

Ok, now lets kick it into gear!!!!
