Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm on the band wagon and AF is on her way. Don't know when I will get back on track with the diet. Hopefully by next week, first week of quitting is tough, but I am strong! Just had to quit! 11 years is tooooo long. I am going to the Kick Butt Support board here and they are a great bunch of gals. I'll keep ya posted on how its going!

Well Shawna, you have to really want to do it. You have to be ready to quit. It took me some time to get there. i quit once for 3 months and everyone says that is to be expected. It takes a successful quitter many times to quit to get it right. I hope this one is it for me. I want to have children and I can't do that as a smoker. I am using the patch and St. John's Wort, too much of a wuss to go cold turkey ;-) So far, just praying for the day to end. Feeling a little edgey, but not mean yet!

YESSSS!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I did. I quit on Christmas eve this past year. My son told me that was one of the things he wanted for Christmas. Christmas dinner was a nice, medicated affair for me though! But hey, I made it through and now am smoke free!

There are odd times I still crave one though. Especially during high stress, reflective moments, or just chillin' with my buds and havin' some beer. But I don't! Wish it was as easy to stay on a healthy eating plan. Ain't stress a witch?

Well done!

I've been smoke free now for over a year and it's the most amazing feeling. It's tough but you can do it.

My motivation was the fact that I developed a blood clot after flying back to Canada from New Zealand - so the smoking, birth control pill, weight and flight were all factors...so I tackled all the ones I could control one by one. Unfortunately, there are long term repercussions to my former bad lifestyle that I won't go into but you're making a very wise decision.

Since that happened to me I try to be very aware of everything that goes into my body.

Good luck!!

Cheers

Lisa
