I saw the preview with her eating Spaghetti and i didn't think it was bad or was trying to down 'fat' people i thought it was a joke. I think with everything everyone has an opinion.
I know this is beating a dead horse, lol, but I had to jump in! First of all I have to agree that some of us watch too much TV, Food Channel and otherwise. Try reading your information from different sources, make a well rounded opinion instead of trying to intellecualize when you don't have other information to back up what you are saying. Heck, if she was on Letterman, she might have been joking around about the whole weight thing. I did see the commercial and all I really saw was Kirstie poking fun at herself. That's it! She's trying to get a job. Can you blame her? Everyone here agrees, good for her. Well, maybe. I thought it was funny, not in poor taste at all and if you think she setting a bad example or shaming the fat race, all I gotta say is LLLOOOOOSSSSEEENN UP!! Life is too short and I'm sure Kirstie has figured this out. You have to accept yourself and not give a crap about what others think. I think she has that attitude. On a side note, I'm am getting tired of the attitude that it is just plain easy to lose weight and its just logic an common sense to lose weight. If it were that easy we wouldn't be here and we shouldn't be ashamed of being fat! We need to embrace and love who we are and be proud! SHEW!! I feel better! Have a nice day!

I think, first of all, that unless you are inside another person's house you really have no knowledge of how much television s/he watches. And in any case, food tv or otherwise, it's that person's business how s/he spends his/her time.
>>Try reading your information from different sources, make a well rounded opinion instead of trying to intellecualize when you don't have other information to back up what you are saying.<<
If a person indicates s/he has seen information in a newspaper, and on three television shows, that constitutes "different sources" so your point doesn't seem to make any sense.
I'm not sure what's going on here, but Kristie Allie was on Letterman, and on ET she did claim to weigh 385 lbs. I saw both programs as well. I don't think it much matters, though, whether she weighs 500 lbs or 200 lbs, because by her own admission she's a "fat actress" (the name of her new pilot program). The point the OP made (I think) was that the program was somehow a "positive image," and some others disagree. I also don't see anything "positive" about an actress crash-and-burning before a television audience. The promo for her "new show" depicts Kristie Allie stuffing her face (literally, with fork and hands) with a huge bowl of spaghetti (large enough to feed an entire film crew) and yelling at the top of her lungs, "more butter, who took the butter!!." There's absolutely nothing positive about that image, or the television show she's promoting.
>>Heck, if she was on Letterman, she might have been joking around about the whole weight thing. I did see the commercial and all I really saw was Kirstie poking fun at herself. <<
And by extension, she's "joking around" and poking fun at obese people generally. There's nothing funny about that, I don't think so. And there's a whole lot humiliating about such a disgusting display.

I read something, in another thread, about your job. I hope things work out the way you want them to.
