I am soooo stupid!!!!

ok, so I start this diet last Monday. I'm doing really good about what i do and don't eat. no more than 1700 calories a day, and I eat things that make me feel full so it dosen't really bother me. So Monday I did about 10 minutes with my weights, and Tuesday I did a 2 hour walk. But let me tell you what me and all of my stupidness did yesterday. Tuesday I got a weight training video put out by Denise Austin. I was thinking ah, this will be wicked awsome for my arms! (I hate the shape of my arms.) So i take the video home and do it Wednesday. All 37 minutes at my own pace. I didn't really feel that i had pushed myself THAT much when I was doing it. It had everything from crunches to squats. Well, it is now 7:30am and i wouldn't even be awake right now if it wasn't for the mass amount of muscle pain. I pulled the muscles in the top of my right leg, my back, and my lower abs, but the one that is really killing me is right under my chest where my ribs start to part. It fills like someone has punched me right betwen the chest. It hurts to lay down, it hurts to stand up. I feel SOOOOO STUPID! and now i am all mad because I know I won't be able to exercise. Well, I WILL try to do some walking. (My leg is not THAT bad.) So thank you for listening to my stupid exercise move of the day, and if anyone knows what to do for a pulled upper ab muscle, PLEASSE for the love of God tell me what to do! AAACCCK! ^v^Christie

Stretching really is the best way to prevent muscle soreness, but you must do it immediately after the workout, at the very least before going to sleep that night.
I'm going to go by the assumption that you're just super sore and give you the recommendation that you NOT "take it easy". As difficult as it seems, getting out and moving your body, even if it's just for a walk, will help loosen things up. If you have access to one, sitting in a hot tub and stretching will feel great.
Next time: GO SLOWLY! :)
PS: After my first Slipknot concert, I looked and felt like I had been run over by a steamroller.
I agree. I think you are just super sore.

Well, start by not calling yourself names! Negative self-messages do no good, and they can harm you. It builds up, incrementally, and can really dash your self-esteem from the inside out. So please, don't ever say of yourself "I am soooo stupid." Don't hurt yourself like that.
As for the "diet," just take your meals one at a time, one day at a time and do your best to make good food choices. Same goes with any kind of exercise you WANT to do. The important thing is just to get some extra movement into every day. If you're hurting yourself with some exercise, then maybe it's not the best one for you right now. Pick something you want to do, and do it, and enjoy yourself along the way.
Just be good to yourself, and you'll get there.
