OT - Sweaty legs... lol!!

Hey, gang. This might be a topic that some of you will get a laugh out of...I'm giggling just typing it lol! I have a problem that can sometimes be embarrassing. I don't really sweat a LOT, but when I do sweat, I seem to sweat mostly on the back of my thighs. The reason this becomes an embarassing problem for me is because when I'm at work (I work in a nursing home) and I'm really busy, it can get pretty hot sometimes in the resident's rooms, and when I start to sweat a bit, it shows through my scrub pants and it makes it look like I sat in something sometimes LOL! I've tried putting antiperspirent on my legs, which works sometimes, but sometimes it's not effective. I am puzzled that this still occurs after I've lost over 60 pounds, and my thighs are not particularily heavy. They are flabby; I definately have some toning to do in that department...but I wonder if the sweatiness will subside when I lose a bit more weight? Does anyone else ever have this problem?

Ok, you can all stop laughing now hahah!! ~Sabrina 264/201/160-165 Atkid since July 17/03

Don't know what to tell ya, Slick ! (Sorry, couldn't resist). I inherited my dad's propensity to sweat like a racehorse...try some Gold Bond Medicated Powder (I'm sure you can find some where you work, LOL)Until I lost more weight, I would sweat under my boobs, and when I used to work at a riding stable, I'd wear a sports bra, and I'd be so sweaty, I'd get a heat rash under my boobs (which is SO painful, because the skin gets completely raw)....Keep an extra pair of scrubs around. Scrubs really don't breaTHE THAT WELL EITHER. jUST BECAUSE THEY ARE PAPER THIN, DOEN'T MEAN THEY ARE COOL (damn caps lock!)

and when I wore them, they were hot. Try to pop outside from time to time to cool off as well!

And remember, there is only one good reason to have sweaty thighs, and workin' ain't it !

LOL that's true, Amy, I never thought about it that way haha! Actually, the sweatiness has gotten a lot better than it used to be. There were some days when, in the summer, I would work my ass off, and it would be sooo hot in the nursing home (old building, really poor air circulation). That was back when I was 260+, and my fat thighs would rub together until they were so raw, I had to walk funny with my legs spread apart so that they wouldn't chaff even more! Those days, I would go home and spread zinc all over my rash to soothe it and heal it faster so that I could do it all over again the next day!!! Boy, am I glad THOSE days are over!!

Y'know what else works too? left-over miconazole nitrate - yeast infection cream....

I can't stand nursing home because they are so hot...but, when I'm 1000 years ols and cold all the time,I'd want it hot too. Maybe I'll get a HotRock like they have fro turtles and snakes and sit on that all day.

And that inner-thigh rash that turns into pimples and oh my GOD.... Ok,how's this for EVIL...several years ago I got a NAS-TAY bacterial infection from shaving my pits with a contaminated razor...and I couldn't shave under my arms for MONTHS.I am so grateful I am the un-hairiest person in the world (It's all on my head)so I had five hairs I had to worry about...I got used to it, but I do shave now.

Ok, enough festing rash stories....I'm getting itchy.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the skin underneath your stomach from getting irritated? Let me know...

I use Caldesene medicated powder or just plain talc powder. Hugs, Brenda
