Introducing Myself

Hello!! I have been lurking about for weeks and I wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions. I am looking for inspiration, motivation, tips, and good friends to help me in this battle I am in. I am not currently on a "diet". My plan is to eat healthy meals and to make exercise a daily part of my life. I am tired of counting fats/calories/points, etc. I know what is good for my body and I want to lose weight this way.

Does this sound reasonable? What are you all doing to lose weight? I have tried every diet there is-except just eating sensibly!!! Hope to get lots of feedback from ya'll.

Thanks Alot,

Kim

weight loss is nothing but burning more calories than you eat .... plain & simple :)

Welcome to the boards, Kim! I'm like you, I hate counting anything lol! I'm not on any "diet" and have just decided to eat more sensibly and exercise 3-4 times a week. I've lost 37 pounds since January, so it's been working for me so far. At some point I expect that my weight loss will slow down, at which point I will probably have to give in and count calories to see where I can make changes. It looks like you're doing well, also! Congratulations on your loss so far :)

Hi Kim and welcome. Well it looks like, from your stats, that you are well on your way. Your weighloss is nothing to sneeze at! Congrats and keep up the good work. As for me, just like many, I've been on and tried every diet, way of eating, whatever on the planet. I've now just resorted to eating healthier foods, cutting out fast food, soda, sweets and concentrating on portion control, drinking more water and adding as much exercise to my day as I can. My weight may come off a lot slower than any of the other plans I've been on but I feel as if it's something I can live with for the rest of my life. I don't want to feel if I put a bite of pizza in my mouth, that I've cheated. I just have to re-train myself to say, okay 1-2 pieces and a salad with instead of 3-4 pieces and soda. I actually don't even have an exercise program I do right now, b/c I can't get through a full one so I just try and park my car further in a parking lot or take the stairs anywhere I can or vacuum the house a bit longer until I feel I can do more. Good luck to you in whatever you do. There are a lot of great ladies (and 1 guy too!) here some great advice and support.
