A suggestion for posters. Most people here look for ways to incorporate exercise into their daily lives, and after a while perhaps the same-old-same-old (gym, tapes, whatever) gets a little boring. Here's a way to pack some exercise into the day, week, month ahead (and more) that would be fulfilling, in many many ways.

The hurricanes! As you know, many people have been killed (at least 16 the last I heard, and the counting isn't done), and thousands--many thousands-- have lost their homes. So what we have is a national weather crisis, and it's only the beginning of hurricane season really. It's a long time until November 15!

In many neighboring States, the businesses, towns (community centers), churches, and charities will be collecting things to ship down to Florida. If you'd like to get some good exercise, and feel really really good about yourselves in the process, why not contact your local Red Cross, Community Chest, churches, Salvation Army, or Community Center and see how you can become involved in the relief efforts in your area? It can be fun to load boxes for the trucks, collect items (can goods, clothes, etc) in your neighborhoods, or otherwise help out in the national efforts, taking place locally, to help these people. And as a bonus, energy expended means calories used and that can translate into weight loss, the goal of many here.

Just a thought! Try something new, for exercise and to help Floridians recover from this before any more hurricanes come that way. There are so many ways to help out in the community, ANY community ANYWHERE in the United States. It's worth looking into, I think.

That's great! As I said, it's not only good exercise (a goal here) but--more important right now--it's a way of helping other people who really need it!
