Hmmmm..I think if I were being asked this question at my highest weight, I'd seriously condsider it. And the sad part is, I don't know what my favorite 'thing' is, unless you are talking food. If I had to give up coffee...Oh, I don't know. I don't drink it to wake up, but because I actually realy enjoy good coffee. For junk food, the cake would be hard to give up, and even though I generally avoid it, because once it's within sniffin' range...well...see my previous cake attacks I have posted here. I can eat an ENTIRE Pepperidge Farm cake (I swear they are all air)and do serious damage to regular cake. Not pies, not bread...but store-made, buttercreme frosted cheapo store cake.
Not a chance! My DH is my favorite "thing" (I did ask him if he qualified as a "thing" LOL).
I'm very happy with my life the way it is, I want to lose weight so I am more confident of a healthy pregnancy (still in practice mode), and to be more comfortable with myself.
My biggest frustration is the ignorance many people seem to have about obesity...just follow the link to the "Fat Virus" post on another board. Those people frustrate me to no end, but as I am reminded by DH it is my choice to either reply negatively to them and add more fuel to the fire or try to educate them. I'm having a hard time "educating", as they say....you can't fix stupid. Sorry, didn't mean to get OT.
Out of us 4 kids, my brother and sister have had "the surgery". Brother is still large, but not like he use to be and sister is sickly all the time.
The remaining sister and I were talking about it one day about taking the "easy" way out. We both had to laugh at our reasons for not having "the surgery" too!
SODA POP! Neither of us were willing to give up soda, which is a requirement for "the surgery" as carbonation can stretch/split the seams they make.
I'll speak for my sister too... we're NOT willing to give up our favorite thing for the sake of being thin. Heck, we wouldn't even give up soda let alone our favorite thing!
Well you got me thinking, lol. I didn't realize that I have sooo many favorite things. I wouldn't do it either. Being slim might be nice, but if your not fixed on the inside it won't matter what size you are. :-)Stephanie 280/225/170 still
I would never want to just magically be thin, because I think it builds character and makes you a stronger person to go through weight loss. And it's something each one of us should be very proud of. I wouldn't put my pride aside and let someone take care of that for me, that's just not in my character. I feel proud as hell to tell people that I've lost 63 pounds, and I would never trade that feeling in for anything! Besides, I could never give up my coffee!!! ~Sabrina

I guess my answer, after all, would be no.

There is more to life than outward appearances!

Nothing, as I'd work for "a slender, healthier body" on my own. I have the power! Everyone does. No genie needed.

I'm healthy and I'm happy and I have the most wonderful family. I love my career...
I'd take all of that and be a chubster for sure.
