I went into Subway today to get a salad, and I saw that they had low carb Doritos!! They're called Doritos Edge, and they have 9 g of carbs, minus 3 grams of fiber for a total of 6 net carbs for a 28 gram serving. There aren't many in the bag, but they sure are yummy!! ~Sabrina

Don't get me wrong, I do eat carbs - sometimes more one day than another. I eat things like veggies, whole grain breads, reduced carb pasta (which is very high in fiber and a ton of protein)but when I limit my intake overall - fats, carbs, sugar, calories in general, I benefit from it. I get on excersize kicks but don't stick to it, so I do what I can when I can, but I still lost 108 pounds even though I didn't 'burn' it off through working out.

I think moderation and diligence is the key, the diligence being pay attention to what makes you feel good or bad, bloated or not, tired and lethargic or perky. Everyone reacts differently to different foods, so working from that is a good start.

Forte,

I hope you receive some reassuring news soon, no one wants to be in that position. My thoughts go out to your daughter and her baby.

Hoping all goes well with your granddaughter. Doctors do wonders with little ones now. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, everyone, for wishing us well. My daughter came out of the hospital Saturday, but her baby is still in intensive care. The baby is just so little. And yes, please keep up your prayers right now. I'm not a very religious person, but this certainly has me looking up and praying.

She's a beautiful little girl, just so tiny, and her name is Claudia (after my mom).

Again, thank you EVERYONE!

You'll have to show us Claudia when she comes home! What a peanut she must be! Technology and medical advancement now is wonderful for preemies, whether it be too soon and they need to 'bake' longer, to low birth weight babies, etc. Best wishes to your daughter and her family and wee baby Claudia!

Edited to add a gentle little shark hug for a very little baby.

"What does it say about us that we can spell-check Doritos" (Kathleen Daelemans, Cooking Thin). Mind over Mallomars, Sabrina.
