and what do you feel works? I have had no plan, and ta-dah, no good results. So, what are you doing, what have you tried, and what works for you? Thanks, Dede

I've done WW and SlimFast. WW worked wonderfully (in conjunction with regular exercising) until I just got lazy and tired of counting points all the live long day. Did SlimFast for about a week before I got fed up with some of the less tasty items they have hehe.

Oh, I also went vegetarian for about 2 months... not to lose weight, but just cause I wanted to. But I lost a couple pounds that way, too. (Felt better, slept better, skin cleared, etc.)

Now I'm thinking about going back to WW, their new Core program sounds pretty good for me.

All I know for sure that works is exercise and water. Soda is my biggest downfall - once I cut it out of my diet (I allowed 8 oz a day, the rest was water) I shed pounds and inches. As for what program, you might have to try a few before you find the one that suits you.

Oh, the other thing I know for sure is I could never do SBD or Atkin's, cause I LOVE my carbs! (:

Well, four years ago I did the Stress/Starvation Diet, and that lopped off 50 pounds, although I wouldn't recommend that route ( I lost some hair, but it's back )then I did Protein Power and Atkins, which were wonderful, I have tried Slimfast, which hates me, because I starve and can't go potty (SORRY!), did Atkins some more, and last summer I got a 21 year old boyfriend. Wanna lose weight? Get a much younger boyfriend. (Cradlerobber Diet.) Then this past January, I went Atkins full-bore, and went from 190 to 177 by the middle of Feruary. Saw a dietician in March, and did lower fat/healthy fat & low carb, and shaved off 20 more pounds, to 157. I have been maintianing the 156-159 for a few months, and put on five pounds of water from a several day beer and cake binge (not together! EWWW!)

Sorry folks, I am being very candid and odd today. I am having an up-front and brutally honest attack. !

So that is my story.

Good luck (: I think you'll like WW, because there really are no restrictions (if you go with Flex that is)... just watch those flex points lol! You could even try Winning Points if your WW still supports it (or just get the books for it on ebay) which is much better than Flex, I think. It keeps you much more honest, in my opinion.

Hi Dede,

My plan has been, and continues to be, just good old-fashioned commonsense. I count calories, and exercise reasonably. And I eat healthy food, and try to stay away from the processed stuff if at all possible.

I've been taking care of my diet this way for a year, or so, and I've been able to lose a lot of weight doing so.

Best of luck to you.

"Portion distortion?" Well, Dede, that's what measuring cups, or a cheap little kitchen scale (Wal-Mart has them) are for. Good luck to you.
