Dear Forte,

There are no longer enough Catholic priests in North America to fulfill all the requests for divine intervention that are received by parishioners. The requests are therefore outsourced to churches in India, where up-and-coming young clergy pray over them at $5 a pop. It's too bad, the powers-that-be apparently don't know about me and my team of Prayer Warriors, because we perform the same service absolutely free. To demonstrate our effectiveness, we plan to unleash a series of powerful prayers in your behalf. Specifically, we will beseech God to bless you and your family in the coming weeks with cathartic pleasures that will permanently expand your capacity for happiness. Blessings to your new grand-baby, and her parents!

Your board-friend,

Astri,

Bless you, Sweetie. I see this, and I'll comment Monday. You're much appreciated.

Is this a weight loss board or a religious board?

Sure feels nice when someone is kind to you.

Usually makes you feel warm inside.

Can you not share these warm fuzzies

Keep the feeling moving forward

More can be gain with honey not vinegar

Even if you only post when you have something nice to say.

Hi Astri,

Okay, it's Monday and time for me to reply to those wonderful well-wishes you wrote to me here over the weekend! Mil gracias, amiga.

That image, GPS-in-a-paperbag-with-an-arrow-pointing up, offered up "cathartic pleasures" to everyone here, all right! And it's true, so True! So GOSH DARN TRUE.

Anyway.....What could I do! I laughed. I laughed to the point I almost needed toilet paper, but I was more than ready for that particular need (right with the bottled water, and emergency batteries...right!). Unbeknowst to me, I have become permanently expanded in my capacity , thanks to you.

Astri, just so you know. In 2001, Mitzi Nichols of Virginia Beach anonymously donated one of her kidneys to a stranger. She got paid nothing for this rare act of generosity, and after recovering from surgery went back to her job as a cashier of a gift shop. It took the universe three years to figure out a way to compensate her properly. This past June, she won $500,000 in the Virginia state lottery. I call this to your attention, Astri, because I believe you're in a phase when your act of no-strings-attached largesse will also generate Karma similar to what Nichols set in motion three years ago. Like her, however, your real rewards may not arrive right away, and they might come from sources with no apparent link to the rec ipients of your kindness. But thank you so much.

Your board-friend,

Forte

Forte, my best wishes to you too. I know you've been through the mill lately. And here's hoping Frances goes out into the Atlantic and misses the states entirely, especially yours. I haven't heard weather since last night, so I haven't the foggiest what's happening with that one. Anyway, my best to you.

Again with the laughter about tourists getting bad directions to evacuate during hurricanes. *shakes head*

Hi Gopher,

Nice meeting you here. I'm sure Forte could use all the support right now, with her grandbaby in the hospital.

You ask about Frances. Here's the latest, I think: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/storm/content/weather/special/storm/index.html?referrer=search_buy

You can also go to noaa.gov

I don't think it's going to miss the United States, or Florida specifically, but it looks like it's coming in from the Atlantic side. And it's still early in the season, so let's pray for the best and prepare for the worst. Are you affected? I don't know your location, but of course it's none of my business.

Take care, and stay safe. If you are in Florida, they are saying all Floridians should brace for this one. (Hurricanes don't make the munchies any easier, either!)

So glad you liked the GPS thingie. Anyway, I just gave another poster info about Frances and all I can say to you is, PLEASE stay safe.
