Do your goals change at all the closer you get? Do you try and go for a lower weight? Do you get anxious? Excited?
How do your eating habits change? Do you try harder or slack off?

Do my goals change as I get closer to achieving them? Definitly! But seeing as my goal is not based on weight but rather fitness level and general well being it's a little easier for me to change them. Though I will admit to getting excited when I notice a new muscle or how I can see my should blades again (damn they look sexy!) and that tends to push me a little harder.
I think once I see progress I want to keep going however there will always be that tempation to slack a bit as a reward or justifying it by say "well these jeans fit me now so I can have that big hunk of cheese".
