I have read your posts asking for everyone to calm down. I have read your posts on TOS violations. Now I have a question for you and iVillage....
This is a board that we (people who have 100+ to lose) are supposed to be able to go to for support, tips, and celebration. Yet, when we defend this board against those who ridicule us, make snippy comments to us (check out the Lane Bryant thread, esp. astri_c), WE get a "warning" from you telling us to cool it. Well, Joyce, what are YOU doing for US?
We get ridiculed from the public, told we're just eating too much, even tho there are studies to show MEDICAL reasons for weight gain, and genereally have to be on the defensive all the time, and now we have to take it here too? I thought I was finding a safe place to journey, but instead you (or whoever it is at iV) is telling us just to suck it up, turn the other cheek, so to speak. I have to do that EVERY DAY at work, church, and everywhere else. Why can't I have a place here that no one will mess w/me? Is that really asking too much?
iVillage has a responsibility to US, the members of this board who are here in the SPIRIT of the board. Not to those who ridicule us, put us down, snip at us and tell us we're just too lazy to lose the weight ---jsut because the don't violate TOS doesn't mean they should be allowed to continue to harass us. That is what it is, harrassment.
I've been a member of ivillage for almost 9 years, and I am incredibly disappointed.

Unfortunately, Joyce will most likely just tell you to use the "ignore" button again, but at least you got those thoughts out for everyone who's been thinking them.

Great job on your wording.
Reality is that this board isn't a safe place.
Even when some posts are deemed *acceptable to TOS*
Enough of the board is offended they should be removed.

Thanks again for your support.

I won't start a debate here.
Come visit my page and say hi!I'm disappointed you couldn't address the issue here. It would have helped a lot of the hurt feelings around this board.
